The place seems a bit sketchy at first (we arrived close to sunset so maybe that’s why), but the food makes up for it. It’s not really tourist-oriented and offers a lot of authenticity, with fresh, home-style food. We had fried red snapper and grilled marlin to go, both were delicious and extremely reasonably priced (we paid half of what we paid everywhere else so far).

We did a hiking trail from Bath beach to Batsheba and Bay Tavern was out halfway point. We decided to take a break and try the food here. So glad we did, the food was DELICIOUS! Portions were generous and prices very reasonable.

Food - exceptional. WHY lemme tell you, fish FRESH and cooked to perfection (as a grouo we had snapper and marlin), salad FRESH & flavorful, PIE tasty cheesy unprocessed and homemade, mash/gravy/rice - APLENTY & packed with FLAVOR!
If in the area you should not miss this spot.
We will definitely be back and spreading word locally and to guests.
For travellers, forget your fancy restaurants and get REAL bajan food here !

Based on an enthusiastic YouTube clip, we came here. Waste of time.
Staff is at the intersection of miserable and arrogant.
Food at the intersection of prison and high school cafeteria.

I tried the Bay Tavern multiple times during my visit to Martins Bay. It became easily my favorite spot in Barbados. Staff is awesome and friendly. Food is high quality, clean, and good portions. Prices are reasonable (I have seen double the prices for a lesser quality food and drinks in other restaurants). They have Karaoke on Thursdays from Noon till around 8 pm. One of the best things to do is to grab your food/ drink and enjoy the scene from the windows/ or in front of the restaurant! (The view is attached)
