we stay for work at Big red's several weeks, place is quiet at night, rooms are simple but cozy, great sleep. shower is hot and plenty, swimming pool with a view on the sea. Complete kitchen do cook your meals if you don't want to drive around or get a delivery. Leslie is a nice owner, with a great sense of humor. We will be back

My son visited Big Red’s Retreat back in May with his wife, and he enjoyed it so much that he convinced me to join him here this January (2026). I’m glad I listened! This beautiful retreat in Bull Savanna offers the perfect balance of authentic local Jamaican life and luxurious comfort.
A special thank you to our wonderful hosts, Les and Sheila, for making the stay feel so welcoming and effortless. One of the absolute highlights of the trip was our early-morning visit to Alligator Pond at 5:30 a.m.—an unforgettable experience.

A piece of paradise in a quiet, peaceful and lovely place in South Jamaica . If you are looking for nature and a quiet place . That’s the place to stay. The British host is not only a host , they are a mother , a friend and a nurse to everyone. The place was so beautiful that we decided to come back again and we did .

Wow, what can I say?! Absolutely breathtaking and beautiful there, from the sunset above the pool on arrival day/ evening, to the beautiful views and sunrise every morning. Very spacious, clean and everything at an arms length. Large rooms, cable tv, the mattress was fantastic, large bathroom, the host is wonderful, the living room, chill games area, lovely rocking loungers to relax on, massive kitchen area, taxi stop just outside, booking to go back very soon - great value for money! The hosts are very accommodating and informative, thank you so much! See ya soon x
