Spacious and clean supermarket that offers a variety of food items plus a lil extra towards the back (home items like utensils, pots, water bottles and even birthday party items)

Today was my first visit and I must say that the selection of items was really good. But my mood started to change when I was at the checkout counter, purchasing two water bottles totaling \$422.00. I had the majority of the payment ready in cash, but I needed to add $22 in coins to complete the transaction. As I was fumbling in my pocket to find the extra $1 coin, a $20 coin slipped from my hand and fell into a narrow, unsealed gap in the counter and disappeared into the underbelly.
The cashier then said, "That gone! Sorry about that" which really did not sit well with me. While I recognize that accidents happen and a $20 coin is not a huge amount in the grand scheme of things, her response was unsatisfactory. She could have handled the situation with more care, perhaps by offering to look for the coin or at least trying to address my concern in a way that showed she truly valued the customers. Instead, I was left with no options other than to pay with a $500 note, which added to the inconvenience.
It’s not just the amount of money that bothered me—it was the lack of a more thoughtful solution or effort to make things right. The cashier's response, though polite, was a bit dismissive given that I had just lost money at the hands of a flaw in the design of a checkout counter.
Therefore, I would strongly suggest that the management address this issue. In supermarkets, it is important that gaps in counters be sealed or that protective lips be added to help ensure that coins and other items don’t slip in.

I only give them 4 stars because they don't have self check out. Otherwise the service was good.

Wide variety of economically priced grocery items and courteous cashiers and other supermarket staff.
Parking is the issue, but then, where is there adequate parking in Kingston?
