The place was very busy and there was only a single person providing customer service.
We were sat next to an active loud speaker which made conversation very difficult, another customer asked the DJ if he could decrease the volume and he politely obliged.
No complaints about the food, everything on the menu was available and when it eventually arrived was very tasty.
Our hosts have never before visited on a Friday/weekend were surprised by the "bussle"; the weekday experience is somewhat more low-key and relaxing.
I would recommend a visit here for it's unique island vibe and good food, but choose a weekday slot if you prefer a quiet dinner. Also some menu items have to be pre-ordered on weekdays so it's wise to phone and reserve your food first.
Overall I enjoyed the experience, the long waiting time for service wasn't a problem for me as I was in no hurry and the rum punch was flowing.

LOved it! Authentic food, good service and used by locals. If you want a quality Rum Shack experience while you're here look no further.

This place made me feel like I was home. I had no idea this little gem was so close to me in St. James. The food was delicious and affordable too!! I had the grilled fish, rice, pie and salad. Would definitely be back.
