This place is “just” the place to be. I stayed there my first week in Barbados and then after one day on another Airbnb I call Mia and Mike to see if was possible to come back which luckily it was for more 6 days. The hosts Mia and Mike are amazing welcoming, they not only make you feel at home but everything is easy, quick replies, suggestion and focus on solutions. If you are into surf beginner there is a surf school 3min away. One spot for surfing is just in the end of the road. House photos are exactly accurate. Nothing misses at the place and they got it every details (charging adaptors, board games, some books, great WiFi, a shower outside to remove sand, the beautiful hammock and everything you need to cook your meals). Enough far from the busy village but 15min walk and you are there and safe. I was traveling solo and being a woman I always felt safe. Waking up with the chickens (well with the roaster) makes this place even more pure and nature and relax feeling! Well done Mia and Mike! Great example on how to set up a Airbnb and being a great hosts! Felt at home! Will miss this!

Having stayed at previous property owned by Mia and Mike, this was our first stay at Surfers Shack and we were not disappointed infact we were absolutely amazed by how outstanding the property is. We have stayed for 11 Weeks and found it to be our home away from home. Mia and Mike are excellent hosts they go above and beyond to welcome their guests. The cleaner Angela is very friendly and professional and cleans the property to an outstanding quality. There is nothing we would fault but only praise for allowing us to return again soon. Thank you

Surfers Shack
We have just come back from an amazing holiday in Barbados, we stayed at the Surfers Shack literally 30 seconds from the beautiful Freights Bay. I don’t usually write reviews but The Shack was everything and more that you would want, it is so spacious and clean inside with Aircon, fans, WiFi, television system, kitchenette etc and outside there was a decking area with a table and chairs, there was also a garden with a BBQ and eating area, oh and washing facilities too. The location is perfect, you can surf and snorkel during the day…..so many huge turtles to see and there is a surfing school a few minutes walk down the road, we also walked to Miami Beach for the day a few great restaurants on the way and it’s only a 20 minute slow walk to Oistins where there are restaurants, bars, supermarkets etc also bus services to everywhere. The location was absolutely perfect and our hosts Mike and Mia were amazing nothing was too much trouble so I would definitely recommend The Surfers Shack to everyone and will definitely be back again.

Mike & Mia's Surfer shack was the perfect place for me. I was looking for something quiet and simple. The decor inside is charming and the 3 outdoor spaces are just an extension of the shack so it felt much larger than expected. The bed is comfortable (I slept great) and the kitchen had everything I needed to cook for myself. The desk was a helpful addition with my remote studies. I enjoyed the vibe so much that it never occurred to me to turn on the TV. The neighborhood was safe & pleasant at all hours with the welcome sound of the monkeys that showed up almost daily and the neighbors and across the street picking mangos. It's proximity to the beach and surf break was an easy short walk to watch the sunset in the evening. Wayne, (the local rasta surfing instructor) and his 2 boys were at the beach most days and I enjoyed talking to them and learning more about the island. Mia & Mike are excellent hosts. When I arrived there were fresh eggs from their chickens on the kitchen counter. I wish I could have stayed longer and I hope to return.

A wonderful stay in this beautifully comfortable little getaway, seconds from the best beginners surf beach on the island. And with ideal and considerately kind hosts, on hand when needed to make the stay extra comfortable. Relax in the cool breeze in the lovely tropical garden, or kick back in the beautifully presented studio. Ideal for remote working or an active holiday. Loved the stay, and if you are lucky there’ll be fresh eggs from the host’s chickens. A real gem.
