Quiet dinner with friendly staff and great food options. The salmon was delicious, cooked perfectly and great flavor. The rest of the food was ok. Service was good, very accommodating waiter but he was a bit overwhelmed or new so it was a bit chaotic to get everyone’s drinks and food. Atmosphere was nothing special, no view at least at night when we were there.

An absolutely perfect spot for genuine local cuisine, complete with a peaceful view and delightful hosts. If you're at Nanny Cay or Road Town, call for a reservation and Mr Robin will come pick you up and deliver you straight to the restaurant (including a return trip, of course.) Ms Gene is a superb cook and loves to share her stories, so ask away while you're here, and ask Robin about the handcrafted furniture (spoiler: he made it all). Can't recommend this spot highly enough, so do yourself a favor and make Gene's part of your Tortola visit.

I was with a party of 6 that are just beginning a week on a chartered catamaran. Gene's was recommended by our charter company and were told they would shuttle us back and forth from the marina. Robin picked us up within 30 minutes of calling the restaurant. Robin and Gene, the chef, own the restaurant. They are friendly and accommodating. All 6 of us enjoyed our food and the experience was wonderful. Highly recommend.

To pile on to everyone else, this was the best restaurant of our trip. The owner is fantastic and her husband was very sociable. We decided to go here based on the recommendation from someone with our charter company. She said she'd never had anything there she didn't like, even the mutton. So among our group we had the curried mutton, coconut curry lobster, and chicken tikka marsala, with conch fritters to start. It was so good my grandfather started looking for a curried mutton recipe to try to make at home. The portions look deceivingly small in the nice little bowls, but they are oh so filling. You can choose from multiple sides, and the classic rice and veggies were perfect for us. Would gladly go back if I make it to the BVIs again.

Great Family run restaurant! Felt like a part of their family when I was there. We were staying in the marina for a couple of days. We went to Gene’s the second night there. And had to go back for lunch and dinner the days after. I had the BBQ Ribs, Coconut Curry Lobster, Ribeye, and the Spicy BBQ sandwich. All were amazing, great flavors and nice and hot! The bar was well equipped with your favorite cocktail makings and beer! Definitely going back next time I am in the BVI.
