Discovered it by accident as I was looking for something entirely different and in the route information this popped up. Naturally I had to visit It's good value, I like the layout and self your you can do . Boat ride in Lake Tarpon was very nice , with friendly and highly knowledgeable staff.. My favourite was the Aviary, feeding and being with the parrots and macaws. One even said hello in a soft British voice . Very cool and definitely ticked off my parrot interaction The lady staff there was also kind , inquisitive and helpful and enjoyed the conversation of culture we had. More and more I realise more Kenyans should visit Barbados haha 😆 The restaurant was very nice , the Acai food bowl was absolutely delicious, especially given how hot the day was, that frozen touch was awesome Definitely worth the visit.

Such a wonderful place. We went just after opening and it was very peaceful. We saw so many birds including an osprey and a humming bird, which was amazing. The staff were friendly and very informative. The cafe made a great iced coffee too 😄 A haven of tranquility and wildlife in the hustle and bustle of Barbados. Highly recommend

The Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary is an amazing 35-acre urban oasis on the South Coast of Barbados, recently reopened after decades of not being used. It is the island's only protected wetland, it offers a serene escape featuring a mile-long boardwalk through lush mangroves, impressive aviaries housing Caribbean birds, turtles, peacocks to name a few. They also have a small reptile zoo like area. While the admission fee for international visitors is a premium, it is definitely worth the visit. Staff are all friendly and helpful. We did the lake tour which was a nice addition, saw herons, baby egrets, coots, osprey and the resident gander “Gary”. They have a nice cafe but service is very very slow.

It was a fun and educational experience. Barbados has recently developed this location as a project on wildlife conservation. 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 The sanctuary is a little wildlife haven. A small area of the swamp has been designated as a visitor center with paths etc, where it is beautifully designed and well maintained with a few aviories. It was fun learning about birds, their personalities and feeding them. Educational boards has been placed with information of different species of birds and reptiles that can be spotted, along the walking paths where visitors are free to walk at your own pace. A large variety of migratory and native species can be spotted. In addition, you will be able to see fish and tortoise 🐢 up close in the lagoon and feed them. Especially the Atlantic Torpons, a large prehistoric fish. The sanctuary also works as a rehab center for injured birds and animals. There are a few freindly residence birds 🐦that made our day😄 💕. Park staff are stationed along the path who are friendly and happy to answer any of your inquirirs. A worthwhile visit. Great for kids and adults. Tickets for foreign adults were approx US$40. A choice of a packet of bird food or fish food per ticket was given. For our 2 tickets we got one packet each.

I had such a beautiful time at Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary! The place is absolutely gorgeous, and I especially loved looking at the birds through the binoculars—it was such a fun experience. The information panels with fun facts were also really engaging and made learning about the island even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this sanctuary to anyone who loves nature and wants to learn more about Barbados. It’s definitely a must-visit, and we’ll be going back very soon!
