Its architecture dates from around the 1960s or 70s. Perhaps it's become too small for the island's growing tourism, events, conventions, etc. I felt a bit cramped in the shops, and I was particularly impressed by the mini-market, bakery, and bar. The souvenir area should be larger. In any case, I'd never seen those machines with monitors that check your passport without having to wait in line or be assisted by staff. Excellent!

Grantley Adams International Airport offers a very smooth and pleasant travel experience. The check-in process is conveniently located outside near the curb, which helps keep things moving quickly. Inside, both security and customs services are well-organized and incredibly easy to navigate. The staff throughout the airport are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The terminal features surprisingly good food selections, though you can expect typical airport prices. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained, which is always a major plus. Additionally, having on-site rental car services and taxi stands right at the exit makes ground transportation entirely seamless. A great gateway to Barbados!

Customer service is non existent here. I maybe spoke to two people who remotely tried. The rest seem like they were being bothered when questions were asked, this older lady shushed me. The security check point people were gathered talking. When asked for directions, they wouldn't even communicate well, instead, they point like you were a bother. Nasty attitudes.

A nice airport for your arrival and departure point to Barbados. Since it is in a warm climate checking is in an open air area with awnings above it. There is a lounge with basic service and you no bartender though you can make some mixed drinks yourself. Easy to navigate a food court is available.

Im gonna be honest here, the airport itself is nice, with good decorations and average facilities, however when it comes to the organisation and management of this airport, it definently reflects on the airport badly. Upon arriving at Barbados from London on Virgin (8hr 30m flight), we immediately ran into passport control, WHICH WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. There are two main queues there, one for people who havent done the whole immigration thing, and one that have. Now we have checked into the island online, but we were still directed into the other line, which was wayyy longer. And even though there were atleast 250 people on this flight, THERE WERE 2 PASSPORT CHECKERS ON DUTY! WHAT IS THIS, LUNCH BREAK? SO WE HAD TO WAIT ATLEAST 2 MORE HOURS THAN WE WERE SUPPOSED TO, JUST BECAUSE OF POOR ORGANISATION. ARRIVALS AT BGI? TERRIBLE. However, the departure section, I can say, was overall a decent experience. If your arriving into here at some point, make sure you pack something to do, cuz you might be there a while!
