Junior is patient, kind, friendly and fun. He is an extremely knowledgeable and helpful surf teacher. He has a smile on his face the whole time and makes learning so fun. We didn’t think we could ever learn to surf but Junior got all four of us up by the second or third wave. I can’t rave enough about him. Book with Junior, he’s the best instructor ever!

I booked 2 lessons with Junior to learn how to surf in January 2024 and it was a great experience! First thing right off the bat, I actually caught a few waves within my first session! I didn't expect to even get up on my feet on the first session let alone actually ride a wave but thanks to Junior this was possible. Junior is a very experienced instructor and knows how to teach and will tell you exactly how to improve. While catching waves I'd hear him calling out the improvements and while riding the waves you can make those incremental changes. He goes at your own speed so if you need a breather you can let him know or if you want to keep catching the waves back-to-back you can do that as well. By the second session I started getting the hang of it a little more and it was even more fun! I recommend Junior's surf school for 3 main reasons: 1. Practicality: you don't just sit on the side and learn theory, you actually start off with a few minutes of learning the technique but then jump in right away 2. Patience: He is very patient with his students, I kept falling off my board maybe 80-90% of the time but he never showed even an ounce of frustration. 3. Feedback: He tells you exactly how you can improve but he does so in the nicest way possible. And his feedback actually work! Things such as, relaxing your body, looking where you're going etc. The next few times I go to Barbados I'll definitely book lessons with Junior!

I happened to run into Junior while checking the surf and we set up a lesson for the next day. Junior was so much fun to work with. I’m between a beginner and intermediate surfer and he really helped me clean up my form, how to discern waves better, and overall improve my surfing. He was kind, encouraging, laid back, professional, personable, and very knowledgeable. If I get to come back to Barbados I’ll probably set up another lesson with him. I highly recommend him for all levels of surfing.

I had a wonderful time surfing with Junior. He is not only the nicest, friendliest surf instructor I’ve ever met but also he’s very knowledgeable and skilled. I’ve surfed before a couple of times so I took intermediate classes and I learned a lot from Junior, especially how to turn and how to catch waves. Highly recommend!

Junior taught me how to surf this summer! It was sooo much fun :) Turns out there is tons more to it than just paddling, standing up, and keeping balance. Junior got me through the paddling and standing and turning part. It’s going to take LOTS more time to learn how to see waves coming, position myself, and so on. He had such a good attitude, that I came back for a second round at the end of my trip with my son and nephew. Junior had them standing, too! His teaching style is really good. For example he noticed I was overthinking it and tried to emphasize the role and importance of feeling what’s happening. Anyway… excellent teacher!
