i was pleasantly surprised to find authentic Nigerian food in barbados. the owner was super nice and helpful as i was trying to get my card to work. the egusi tasted exactly how it should. this was my first time trying it with eba, and i must say i prefer it with pounded yam. the jollof was great too, but could’ve used a little more spice. the chicken was nice and had a charred/smoky flavor to it. i definitely will be ordering every time i travel to barbados now. the prices are fair as well.

Parking: 4/5 | Responsiveness: 4/5 | Food: 3/5 I’m really happy that I found a place in Barbados offering African food, it’s such a nice addition and I was excited to give it a try, since I’m always looking for new experiences. The rice portion was generous and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice—enough to taste the heat without being overpowering. The chicken was also good and reminded me a lot of local chicken, which made me reflect on how connected our Caribbean food culture is to African roots, so the flavor profile was very similar flavour. Personally, I would have liked a bit more or a larger piece protein in comparison to the starch. I was however pleasantly surprised by the inclusion of coleslaw, which balanced the meal nicely. The packaging was attractive and well put together. I also appreciated the unique experience of collecting the food directly from someone’s home, it added a warm, authentic touch. Overall, this is a welcome addition to the Barbados food scene. Thank you for introducing me to something new!

Even before I ordered the customer service was excellent. Once my order was delivered, the jollof rice and chicken were spicy, tasty and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend. The egusi was a good first experience for me and the fufu was soft and mellow, but for me an acquired taste. I’m looking forward to trying the pounded yam next time with the egusi. Overall a wonderful first experience ordering from Taste of Africa!

I'm a Nigerian, and since moving to Barbados, I haven't seen anyone who has prepared our Nigerian dishes as well as they do at home. But after ordering from Taste of Africa, I'm proud to tell you their dishes taste just like what I usually eat back in Nigeria. So if you want to experience the authentic taste of Nigerian food, then Taste of Africa is a must-try.

Come in here the whole! If you are looking for authentic African food! THIS IS IT!! My goodness the tastiest, truest, heartiest meal!! I am telling you I've had food across the best Chops in Ghana and this stands toe and toe! I had Suya Chicken and Jollof Rice and in my note I said "I eat spices put all the love"! Mercy and compassion the LOVE was that meal that I bought on Monday and I'm still eating today, Wednesday! The Family portion says 6-7! Untrue! A solid 10 people can eat from it! Friends food has not made me this happy in some time! Well done to the Chef and team! Thank you so much!!
