I spent 3 weeks at the language school in December 2025. It was a great experience and an excellent decision to spend the pre-Christmas time in Barbados. The school classes were held every day in the morning. The three lessons were very intensive and useful. These three weeks gave me so much that would have taken much longer in a regular school. The lessons were led by the owner of the school, Sylvia Johnson. In a small group, we mainly conversed and talked the whole time. The lessons were also interspersed with learning grammar. We also did not forget to discuss the "mistakes" that we had in our spoken language. There were only 4 of us in the group, so Sylvia devoted herself to all of us. I really have nothing to criticize about the lessons. Part of the stay was living with a family, which took the whole study to an even higher level. I really "had" to devote myself to English all the time. The family was also great, the accommodation very comfortable. I was completely satisfied. After school, I devoted myself to traveling around the island, for which there was enough time. During these three weeks I really got to know the whole island, its atmosphere and the locals. The island is safe, you can also travel around it by local public transport. I had no problem with that. Moreover, the weather in Barbados in December was really great. Warmth, sunshine, warm Caribbean sea. I highly recommend the language course and the stay.

It was a great experience to stay and study at Codrington Language School. The teachers were very helpful, and we had lot of learning materials during lessons. I stayed here for two weeks. The teaching style was a bit unique compared to other English schools in the EU. On the first day, we focused only on speaking, and the next day we corrected our conversational mistakes. We also had lots of time to talk about Barbadian culture, local places, and customs. The promotion ceremony with fish cakes, beer, and fresh cheese—was the best! I highly recommend studying at this school. I hope to come back sometime in the future...

Almost five weeks of amazing experiences in Barbados and at the wonderful Codrington Language Center. I’ve gone from being a perpetual beginner to a confident beginner :) This is especially thanks to my wonderful teacher, Celia. I hope we’ll meet again someday.

I spent one month at this wonderful language school in Barbados and had an incredible experience! The teachers were kind, professional, and made learning fun and effective. Being surrounded by the vibrant Barbadian culture made it even more special—the people are so kind, the island is beautiful, and there’s so much to explore. I highly recommend this school to anyone wanting to improve their language skills in a tropical paradise. Thank you for an unforgettable time!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an incredible experience at Codrington Language Center! The teachers are incredibly welcoming and professional as well as highly skilled and passionate about teaching. The lessons are interactive and tailored to individual needs, which made learning so much more engaging and enjoyable. The atmosphere at the school is friendly and supportive, and I felt at ease from day one. The location of the school, on the beautiful island of Barbados and surrounded by the Caribbean Sea, is of course the cherry on top. I highly recommend this school to anyone who is looking to improve their language skills in a wonderful allround setting! Special thanks to Sylvia for making my experience exceptional! Ps: I took this course as part of a Bildungsurlaub, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is eligible for this type of leave. It’s an amazing opportunity to combine learning and travel!
