So we've been here twice. Once while we were staying at Sugar bay (the hotel where it's located ) and another time for my birthday. It's consistent. West Indian food culture is deep and unforgiving. It's not seeking to attract instagrammers and influencers. The food is good. One can argue there are better offerings on the stretch (but the stretch also includes restaurants competing for global honors). Umi just does itself. The food is good, well presented and staff leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy. Maybe that's all that matters.

I had an amazing time. The waitresses were friendly. The atmosphere was cozy. The sushi was good and there were good portions as well. Definitely a repeat location!

Portions are very big and the prices are affordable for sushi. The staff is also very nice and accommodating. It is a small location so make sure to get reservations early.

This restaurant offers some awesome sushi and Asian cuisine. The food is very well presented and always very tasty (kudos to the chefs on hand) and the table service is excellent with very attentive staff. Special mention to Tadia, KerryAnn and their intern(can't remember her name). They were excellent hosts and made our celebration all the more special. The live entertainment was also a nice touch. Barry Chandler's live performance was exceptional. Now while the food and service at Umi is always great, the bar needs a lot of work. There seems to be no consistency in how cocktails were made with some being too sweet, and others with seemingly no sweet at all (worst margarita ever). The same drink tastes different each round (amaretto sour). Also a bar on a busy Saturday night at 7pm should not be out of basic items to mix cocktails listed on their menu. In my humble opinion, for a restaurant that offers such great food and service, they shouldn't let sub standard drinks bring their rating down. Will definitely be back for the food, service and entertainment.
