Yelluh Meat
Yelluh Meat is a street-food experience inspired by traditional Bajan roasted breadfruit. We believe that the rich history and pride of a people can be found in their food. What started as a mutual passion and a chance meeting between two Bajans, sparked a connection that became a business to change the way people connect with our beautiful island of Barbados, its culture and its people.

Simple setting, outside seating. Most people get delivery or take away. Service was excellent. We had the make your own bowl, with lamb stew, avocado mayonnaise and sunflower garlic spread. The signature Pigtail bowl in rum sauce and butter and breadfruit saltfish balls. All were delicious, very delicious and filling. We had leftovers for tomorrow and still were full. Would definitely recommend.

Yellow Meat in Barbados is a must-try. I have been there a few times and tried most of the bowls, which are consistently well seasoned with excellent flavor. The standout for me is the customer service—always attentive, welcoming, and informative.
On my most recent visit, they were no longer offering the breadfruit bowls, only pieces of breadfruit. That was not an issue, though it did take away a bit of the unique touch. Even so, the food and service were still A1+.

Ordered the breadfruit tacos with jerk chicken, and it was probably the best thing I ate on the island. The ingredients were carefully considered and balanced each other beautifully.

I've wanted to try this restaurant a while now, since it popped up on my feed on Instagram about two+years ago...so I finally did after attending Carnival day celebrations in the area, which is the route for revellers.
This breadfruit bowls concept is a good use of a local indigenous product...which at times is taken for granted and sometimes (wasted) because of it being a bountiful fruit/vegetable and can be prepared in a variety of ways...all being quite delicious.
Yelluh Meat...I love the name btw...when this product is roasted, the inside of the breadfruit is a yellow delicious starchy goodness that is filled with any meat/fish...(stew, fried, pickled or even canned) to vegetables with delicious slabs of butter.
The restaurant's spin on it is quite popular, flavorful and tasty...the lamb stew choice was delicious and tender and quite filling..not service driven, more like take out.
The location is set in a carpark type setup with picnic benches with a laid back vibe, comfortable for an outdoor dining experience, I left feeling quite satisfied and is a definite recommendation.

Amazing breadfruit bowl, but the location is wrong on google maps, it shows way before the actual location. Hard to find, but definitely worth it if you want to try some authentic Barbadian food.
