This place is a gem RIGHT by the ocean, you can see the surf spot from your bed. There is a little cafe as well, run by lovely Lisa who will make you some really nice breakfast or lunch. Claudia is an amazing host, she helped us out with everything from finding a doctor to providing literally anything we could possibly need and telling us everything about the most beautiful spots on the island. Her friendly attitude and smiles all day will make you feel more than welcome. She also organized a snorkeling trip with Zed on his boat which was a great experience as well. I can only recommend this place, it really does feel like paradise

I discovered Zed's just over 10 years ago and immediately knew I found a very special place. Since then, I've traveled back on many occasions bringing friends and family with me. The location is sublime, the surf is incredible and I can't say enough about the Layson family, the staff at Zed's and Barbados as a whole. It always feels like home. My latest trip had to be postponed due to the Corona crisis but I look forward to returning once travel restrictions lift.

I have spent several weeks at Zed’s in the past couple of years. I love the place! The surfing has always been good. The instruction, led by an incomparable gentleman named Junior, is off-the-charts excellent. I was a beginner (60+ Age) on my first visit to Zed’s and their instructors got me going quickly — I enjoyed every single day in the water with them. The apartments at Zed’s are charming and super comfortable. And the location is so beautiful; it is about 30 yards from your door to the ocean. Best of all, the owners are incredibly nice people and they work so hard to make sure the guests are comfortable and having a lovely time. This is a jewel. I feel so fortunate to have discovered it. I can’t wait to go back and I hope to bring my entire family on a visit before long.

Had an amazing first surf lesson thru Zeds. Andre and Junior are cream of the crop guys and their instruction was as precise as it was fun. They drove us via open back truck top loaded with boards to the south west Freight Bay and got right to it. Turtles popped up frequently and they had everyone riding early in the session. Afterwards thoroughly spent; every soul was grinning ear to ear on the ride back to the shop. My only regret is not doing this earlier in my trip so I could go again. See yall next year.

GLORIOUS---Beach, pristine water, picture perfect waves –--all 30 feet from private and comfy apartments! Hosts, Claudia and Zed, treat everyone like family, always welcoming, caring, and competent, ready to help plan special day trips (fishing, snorkeling, cave spelunking, snorkeling with turtles) or a special candlelit dinner at a uniquely island table for 2 (or 22!). They and their staff take pride in everything they do from preparing simple and delicious breakfasts and lunches in their onsite café to remarkable daily surfing lessons with surfing maestro, Junior, and his team of extraordinary instructors, guaranteed to get all students up and catching waves with laughter and wonder all around! We discovered this amazing laid back place 10 years ago when looking for just a quick, “learn to surf” get away and have returned every year since for an extended total life energy recharge. Thank you Claudia, Zed and your whole surfing adventure family!
