I usually have had amazing experiences with Aeropost, and I consider myself to be a very patient person. However, the experience I have had over the last month has left an extremely unpleasant impression.
My package has been with Aeropost since April 7th. After some time, I contacted customer service because I felt that timeline was unusually long. The first representative I spoke with simply advised that the package was in customs and that was all she could tell me. I accepted that explanation at the time.
On another occasion, I spoke with a different representative who acknowledged that the delay was unusually long and mentioned that my package had been flagged “red” and that she would investigate further. She was able to determine that the package had simply been sitting there awaiting plant quarantine review. She assured me that she would have them look at it that same day (May 7th).
Later that day, she contacted me to advise that there would be an additional charge of $10.36 because customs had not included freight in their calculation. She informed me that if I paid this amount, I would be able to receive my package at the same time.
However, upon arriving, I was told that my package was not ready. I showed the email I had received and referenced the additional payment amount, and I was still allowed to make the payment.
I then contacted Aeropost directly for clarification. Within one minute, the representative asked me to hold, and I remained on hold for 22 minutes. At that point, I called back from another phone because that wait seemed excessive. This time, I spoke with another representative, and before even beginning the conversation, I explained that I had already been waiting for 22 minutes and was hoping to receive assistance. Unfortunately, there was no acknowledgement or apology regarding that experience.
I do appreciate that this representative took the time to explain what had actually happened. specifically, that i had been provided incorrect information, and that despite the second payment I had already made, I would still need to wait an additional 3–5 business days for the broker to release my package.
I am not someone who raises my voice or mistreats customer service staff, as I understand that these issues are not always directly their fault. However, the way this entire situation was handled was extremely poor and deeply disappointing.
I have recommended Aeropost to quite a few people over the years and have even personally helped others set up their accounts because of the positive experiences I previously had. That is what makes this experience particularly disappointing.

It has been a month since I ordered my package and still haven’t received it yet. It was in Barbados for weeks before the customs clearance started. Which only started because I had to go to their office and ask a question. After having to pay for the package to arrive in Barbados. I was then charged another $50 USD in VAT. The same was paid and they told me 3 business days then it would be released. I still haven’t received my package as yet and now I’m being told that it has to go through customs again to make sure that everything is correct. THAT MAKES NO SENSE!!! Aeropost needs to get its act together or get new customs brokers that are more efficient at their jobs cause this is not it!!!

This company is terrible, they have an app, but no one you can actually speak to and they are very slow with updates on your parcel whereabouts or situation,they haven't responded to my emails either,all they keep saying is your case has been forwarded whenever I write in there live messaging in the app which for the most part is automated.No info as to how long it will take to receive my parcels,I have packages stuck in customs in Barbados, I have supplied all necessary invoices, its been over a month since I had my parcels forwarded to them, Im hoping I will get them soon or I'll have to make a claim.

Terrible company. Sit on the packages as if theyd like to keep them forever then sell them. And the staff are awful too. Especially the lady Shanice or something like that at the front..if you get her..terrible service. Extremely unhelpful.

If I could leave a 0 star I definitely would. I genuinely had high hopes for the service from Aeropost as this was my first time using their service, however that was not the case.
First, the cost calculator calculates the wrong values. Plugged in the expected value and weight of my items and I ended up being charged more. Even after they received my package I used the label and weight that they stated the package was and the cost calculated was still less than what I paid.
Secondly, The time it took for me to receive my package is outrageous. I received my package 3 weeks after being told it had arrived in Barbados. When I was notified that it was in Barbados I made it known about where my preferred pickup was and I waited to receive the email about it. I even messaged to ensure that everything was in order for my package. I was told that the package was waiting to be transferred to my preferred pick up. 2 weeks later still no email about the package. I then called the office only to be put on hold and left for 3 times. I called another number that I found who then alerted me that my package was in-fact still at the warehouse. I let her know that I had selected the option of it to be delivered at one of the lockers. She said that you have to alert them of your choice, I then let her know I already did that 2 weeks ago, the response was that she would put it to be transferred.( That should have been done 2 weeks ago). I collected my package a week after that from their main location myself.
Overall, the experience made me feel like I hadn’t paid for this service and I was just getting it done for free. Definitely not ordering with them again.
