Anguilla Great House Beach Resort

We stayed at Anguilla Great House Beach Resort and overall, it was an okay experience, but not one we would return to. If you’re just looking for a place to get you through the day, this could work. The property has a lot of potential, but it currently feels very outdated and in need of upgrades. One of the biggest issues was the mosquitoes. There were so many that we actually had to finish our dinner in the room. What made it more surprising is that on another part of the island, where we stayed at a different property, we didn’t experience this at all. The food was actually very good with large portions, great quality, and really delicious. However, the menu was extremely simple with limited options. The staff were friendly and generally helpful, and the beach itself is beautiful with a very nice view. That’s definitely one of the highlights of the property. That said, the rooms are outdated, and while the AC was working, the bed was very uncomfortable, we ended up with back pain for days afterward. We were also woken up multiple times starting as early as 3 a.m. by a rooster, which made it difficult to get proper rest. Breakfast was very basic, consisting only of hot porridge, a few fruits, coffee, and juice, nothing more. Overall, while the location and food were positives, the property lacks comfort, updates, and attention to detail. With some improvements, it could be a great place, but in its current state, it falls short.

Overall this was a 5 star experience. We were there for Bankie's Moonsplash 2026 at Dune Preserve. The location could not be any better, and the food was amazing. We had salt fish and Johnny cakes for breakfast each morning. Loved all the tables and chairs along the beach and the live music on Sunday was a treat.

The rooms are a little dated but everything else is wonderful. Food is amazing, service is great, you cannot beat the location. The people here are so nice and friendly. Love it!

I'm afraid to state how happy we were here. I want to be able to come back, so don't listen. The location is ideal. The water is magnificent. The view is to die for. Inexpensive drinks and yummy food available any time of day. Very cool population of guests and staff. The service was always with a smile. I'm excited to return! (Only one key available per room, oddly.)

Basic rooms with good air conditioning. Rooms get serviced daily and wifi in our room is good enough. Property is spread out with really nice views.
