Recently rented a jeep from sun cars-drive a magic car rental in Barbados. All pre booked before my arrival and all done with absolute ease and peace of mind. Excellent communication via email. Car was delivered to the hotel at my requested time along with excellent customer service from Akela who made everything crystal clear and easy to understand. We was even given a guide book and map with plenty of helpful tips. Would definitely recommend for car rental.

Probably the best car rental agency in Barbados, period. They offer convenient pick up and drop off at Grantley Adams International Airport. Also, don’t forget your parking ticket from the rental agency to allow you to get out of paid parking. I highly recommend this car rental agency for the best value for your money. Two thumbs up!

They rented me a Jimny with a broken trunk strut, so the trunk would not stay open and would slam on us when using it. Very dangerous especially with our kids. The kids seat we rented from them was also in a very bad state, and did not seem safe at all.
On top of this, when we returned the car the lady charged me an additional “excessive sand” fee, which seems absolutely ridiculous for a beach rental on Barbados. Additionally she also charged me another fee to top off the gas even though it was returned full. Not impressed, and will certainly use a different car hire company next time we visit Barbados.

This is the third consecutive year that we've used Drive-a-matic to hire a car in Barbados. We have asked for a Suzuki Jimny each time: it's ideal for exploring the island, especially when you get a bit far out and the roads rival some of the ones in the UK! It's fast enough for "island time" driving and comfortable with enough room in the small boot for beach kit - the back seats fold if you need more space and only two/three people.
The company staff have always been friendly, polite and professional and the cars spotless. The new system of videoing the car at handover is a good one that saves time. It's so convenient that they'll drop the car at your hotel and at the end of the rental you simply leave the key at reception.
If we come back to Barbados again next year, we won't hesitate to use Drive-a-matic for our "holiday wheels"!

My son and I rented a car from SunCars- Drive-A-Matic Car Rentals for four days in Barbados. It was as good a car rental experience as any I've had anywhere. The online reservation process was easy, picking up the car very quick (I pre-registered all my information, which saved time at the counter), they carefully photographed and documented every scratch, ding and defect on the car while I watched so that I would not be charged for any pre-existing damage (I got a copy of all the photos), and the return took less than 1 minute. The car was clean and totally reliable. I believe I got great value for the money and was very pleased. I highly recommend this company.
