This is a gem of a hotel in a prime position. The hotel is the training centre for the hospitality industry in Barbados and they are setting a very high standard for their students.
The rooms have recently been refurbished, the air-conditioning is new and works, the bathrooms have been modernised to a high standard. Everything is spotless, your greeting at reception very friendly and welcoming. The food is good, well cooked and value for money, the locals eat here, the queue for the buffet at lunch time lasted over an hour. There is an option of a set menu in the restaurant which is good, the service is excellent (you have to remember these are students learning their trade not seasoned professionals, you have to be patient).
The pool is spotless.
I will be coming back, hopefully for more than one night.

Everyone at the hotel is courteous, especially the students working at the hotel. The gentleman working at the front desk went out of his way to find me a mask that I needed to visit a medical facility for business and helped me with ordering food online. I always look at the good things as well. The breakfast was not great and the pillows were extremity hard and difficult to sleep on.
I usually don't write reviews but I was very disappointed that the hotel staff didn't take my health seriously. I woke up in the middle of the night with an asthma attack because the AC filters were very filthy. I'm very sensitive to dust mites and dirty AC filters which I have to deal with when traveling. I figured I would get someone to clean them in the morning and everything would be solved.
When I left the hotel at 6:30 am the following morning I asked the front desk if they could have someone clean the filter because I had a difficult night with my asthma and was up the entire night. I returned to the hotel early afternoon and reminded them again that it was important but no one showed and I stayed in my hot room for hours because I didn't want to have an asthma attack again. Before bed time I asked again for the third time and told them to just send someone to take the filters out and I would clean them myself if they couldn't get the maintenance person. I waited for several hours again and then decide to stand on a tall desk to remove the filters on my own in order to get a good night sleep. I will never stay at this hotel again because my health wasn't taken seriously. I must also note that the lampshades and curtains needs a deep cleaning as well. I think if they are teaching students about operating a hotel they should do a better job keeping the rooms cleaner especial the AC filters and hanging fabrics. I must say the rest of the room was well cleaned.

Very affordable hotel if you’re having a short stay in Barbados.
It’s definitely a very dated and old hotel, but it’s suitable for a few nights or an overnight stay, the food is okay and breakfast is included in the room plan. The breakfast spread is limited to your classic eggs, bacon and breakfast potatoes, cereal etc.
The staff and customer service is not the best but it’s acceptable given the price you’re paying.
The location is probably the best thing here, it’s close by to Accra beach and lots of food places and beach restaurants. It’s about a 14 minute drive to St. Lawrence Gap.
