The service was fine. The staff was pleasant, although whoever the manager or owner that was present that night, didn’t not take the time to greet or acknowledge any of the guests, which is just a custom that I am use to. The food lacked any character, and very blah taste. I don’t want to sound negative at all, as it wasn’t a bad experience, but the place could use major improvement in presentation, and taste. Atmosphere was the saving grace, as the wife and I were able to enjoy a beautiful sunset while we dinned in.

Had lunch and dinner here. Lunch was busier so service was slower, but very Bajan! Enjoyed a flying fish salad amd tacos with a beer. Dinner was a slightly different menu. Restaurant was quiet, so good service. Goat curry was super, shrimp curry was good, octopus was tasty and grilled mahi mahi was very also nice.

Drinks took a bit, and when those were done, they didn't ask us if we wanted any others, but they did keep our waters filled. The food took quite a long time, and it wasn't really busy. And though we were overlooking the beach, with a good view of the sunset, it was still very hot out, so they set up a fan for us. My Mom had lobster bisque that was very salty, so they replaced it, but it was still salty, and she found her pulled pork nachos to be hot, but when my sister and I tried them, we got some from a lower layer, and actually found them to be sweet. My Mom did say they were plentiful. My sister's Thai papaya chili salad was spicy but good, and her (wet) jerk chicken wings were hot. I had the (dry) jerk chicken pizza, which came with plantain on it... definitely interesting. It also didn't seem really hot to me, like my mouth didn't get hot, but at one point, my lips did definitely feel the heat. I even asked if they were red or puffy and got a yes to both. I'm guessing more of the spice was in the sauce but - that's just a guess. My Dad got the meaty beast pizza (or something like that - maybe feast..?), and he seemed to enjoy it. We did not have dessert. And for our drinks, my sister's lime daiquiri was kind of meh, my Mom's drink (can't remember what it was) was kind of strong / bitter, and mine was the best thing I had all night - a BBC (Banana, Bailey's, and Coconut). Overall I'd give it 2.5 stars.

Juma's in Porters, Barbados offers a truly picturesque setting with mesmerizing sunset views right on the beach—an ideal spot for a relaxing evening. The service was friendly and welcoming, adding to the laid-back island vibe. However, the food was unfortunately just average and didn’t match the high expectations set by the location. We also found the menu pricing to be inconsistent and somewhat puzzling. While it's a great place to enjoy a drink and take in the view, we wouldn’t recommend it for the food.

We dined outside, the staff were extremely patient and good natured with my group; many rum punches had already been consumed and every group has one person that should have already switched to water. The roti is very tasty, more potato than I'm used to but perfectly seasoned. My wife really enjoyed her flying fish salad and everyone else enjoyed their dishes. Note: SUNBEDS ARE NOT FREE! Juma's have two free sunbeds for patrons, all other sunbeds belong to "Freddie". When we arrived, one of the Juma waiters helped laying out the sunbeds, so you can see my confusion when it came to ownership of them. After reading previous reviews where it mentioned "free use of sunbeds when food and drink is bought", at the end of the day my wife went to clarify the point with Freddie. She relayed my review finding to him and rather than reply with "No madam, I am not affiliated with Juma's" he went off on a tirade and almost accused my wife of trying to skip payment. When I saw my wife she was visibly shaken and upset; I went to have a word with Freddie. He gave me some BS about a previous customer that left without paying.... WHAT HAS THAT GOT TO DO WITH MY WIFES QUESTION⁉️ Freddie needs to seriously rethink his customer relations policy. Remember the price quoted for the sunbed will double when you settle the bill. After laying out the sunbed Freddie will install a parasol as well; this is not free and costs as much as the sunbed; it is not mentioned at the beginning. Juma's management would be wise to inform patrons that Freddie is a free agent and Freddie would be wise to get a chalkboard with his prices listed.
