03/31/2026 This is a really great hike to do (if your a hiker) to the waterfall. The path was easy and man made and easy to follow. Its $2 to get threw the gate, its an incredible site to see with the waterfall, but this place can get packed with tourist and locals around and it can get very chaotic and hard to traverse, so be careful with your footing. Its a great place to be to slide down the falls and enjoy cold refreshing water, it can get really overcrowded. Their 2 ways to get back down you can take a dip in water by jumping off the cliff or climb back down but there will be traffic. Overall this is a really good, best advice get there SUPER EARLY.

Awesome place to go! Really a must do! There is a rope swing, a few different cliff jumps of all different sizes, some very small going all the way up to about 40 ft. It’s run by the private land owners I’m guessing. They charge you $5 to park. But the road back there is pretty treacherous. When we got there we hiked up the river area to where all the fun is located. Then when we were done we walked down the main road and I guess one of the owners charged us $1 each to get out the gate. Seems pretty shady but no big deal I guess it is their land after all. Definitely was the highlight of our trip to Puerto Rico. Would 100% recommend. Oh and by the way definitely no need to pay for a tour. Just safe yourself the money and go explore

Very nice visit and very popular so go early. I recommend you park at the parking lot on the right. You can’t miss it. $10 bucks but it’s secured and easy access to the trail head at the other end of the parking lot.
Take the trail. It’ll lead you to the river. Cross it and go 100 yards or so. You’ll cross the river again and look for the stairs. See pic. Stairs are steep! At the top go right to keep following the river. Look for a washed out area where it looks like rain has removed a lot of soil/clay. Take the trail down to the pond. Cross the river and continue heading up stream. You’ll get to a swing rope, dive cliffs and water slide area.

Area of El Yunque with beautiful waterfalls, cliff jumps and a natural rock slide. We decided to do this with a tour guide to be able to navigate the rainforest best as possible and our guide Carlitos did not disappoint. The hike can be a little challenging when having to climb a few rocks or stairs but definitely doable. The water was very refreshing and the greenery was beautiful.

You gotta do the rope swing. The natural water slide and the cliff jump. Super croweded. Went with a guide. This hiking is not for weak people. You have to do bouldering. River crossing. Climbing stairs. swimming. This is definitely intermediate. I had a great time though. Bring water shoes.
