Local & Co

our ethos - eat well. do good.

From the farmer nurturing his produce ‘til harvest, to our Chef passionately creating gastronomic perfection, at LOCAL & Co. you meet the hands that feed you.

Over eighty-five percent of Barbados’ produce is imported. Our aim is to turn that on its head. It’s why we actively support regenerative food systems, organic farmers, biodiversity and meticulously source and forage for wild foods. By working alongside artisans, producers, farmers, fisherfolk and butchers on the Island we do whatever we can to help maintain the health of our oceans, soils and food communities.

By supporting them, they in turn support us so we can bring you homegrown, clean food… because for 100% you deserve to be nourished with the very best.

Freshly baked pies, pastries, outstanding salads, curries to die for and grab and go meals that will have you coming back for more. And that’s just the food.

Local & Co was on my list of critiques for this year . We had the crudo sampler, (recommend a side of breadfruit chips) jerk pork bites , mahi and lobster, chicken curry (please present it better and add cauliflour ) presentation was not appealing compared to the rest. Appetite starts with the eye . Service was excellent . Our bar tender was TOP notch and we enjoyed a rum sampling . The place itself is very charming and inviting . Cocktails were also amazing and very well presented . Will return to try different menu options . Highly recommended !

Thank you to Mya and the team at Local & Co. for helping my mother and husband celebrate their wedding anniversary last night. They were warmly welcomed with bubbles, and their table was beautifully decorated with petals in the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset. All three courses were absolutely delicious, and the evening ended with a dessert featuring a lovely personalised message, which was such a thoughtful touch. They also highly recommend the rum punch.. a definite highlight of the evening! A special thank you to Shanice as well for helping to arrange everything so seamlessly. It made the celebration truly memorable.

Excellent service, probably the best I've experienced in Barbados. Staff doesn't miss anything and are very helpful. Food was delicious. To be honest I did not like the ice cream with dessert but everything else was good. Prices are high so not affordable for the average local but still worth the splurge to celebrate a special occasion.

Such lovely and welcoming staff greeted us quickly sitting us down without a reservation, we were quickly seen by waiting staff and drinks and complimentary bread which was also very nice. The food was so amazing, I had the Chiken burger, while my mother and Nan chiken curry which they said was the best food they had ate so far on the island. The music was also really nice and the view was perfect! 👏🏼 🇧🇧

The one star is for the nice ambiente and the nice lady at the lobby. The location is great but that is valid for most of the seaside restaurants on the coast. We came without reservation, and were first told to wait in front of the lobby by a waiter. Then another one asked why we are standing around and asked us if we wanted a table. We confirmed and were seated in the lobby/ waiting space and ordred a beer and a drink. After ten minutes the bartender said they don't have this particular drink so we ordered 2 beers, which took another 5 mins. While we were finishing the beers, another waitress asked if we wanted to order the food already. We ordered crisps as a starter, a ceviche and the catch of the day. Finally we managed to get a table outside, but when the food arrived the ceviche was actually a small portion or an appetizer, served in a martini glass, which was not clear from the menu. To cut a long story short, the place is totally chaotic, the service below average for such a fancy restaurant. We waited for more than half an hour for the table and were treated like some second class guests as we obviously weren't the right clientelle. Disappointing!
