We booked this in person as it was close to our accommodation at Riu Aquarelle. We went out just as it got dark. We had a good time. The complimentary rum punch was really good we finished the jug. You will need to wash off as soon as possible when you are done and dont wear a white swim suit. The glo is brighter if it hasn't rained in a few days.

If you're ever in Jamaica, the Luminous Lagoon is definitely worth visiting! The tours only take place at night, which makes the experience even more magical. As the boat moves across the water, the lagoon glows with a beautiful blue light. The glowing effect happens whenever the water is disturbed, creating an unforgettable sight. Many people jumped in and swam, and it looked like so much fun! I didn't go in this time, but if you're planning to visit, don't forget to bring your bathing suit so you can enjoy the experience. The boat tour lasts about 30–45 minutes, which is just the right amount of time to take in the beauty of this natural wonder. After the tour, we celebrated my mom's birthday at the restaurant. The staff went above and beyond by decorating our table with a birthday backdrop and surprising her with a heartfelt birthday celebration. They even played birthday songs, making her feel so special. She truly enjoyed every moment of her evening. For dinner, we ordered the jerk chicken with festival and fries. I normally don't eat spicy food, but the jerk chicken was absolutely delicious! It was perfectly seasoned, juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection without being overwhelmingly spicy. From the breathtaking glowing waters to the warm hospitality and delicious food, this was an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend adding the Luminous Lagoon to your Jamaica itinerary!

I visited the Blue Lagoon on an excursion from Ocean Coral Springs this past Wednesday with my two children. The total cost was $350 USD, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The boat was completely overcrowded, with people packed shoulder to shoulder, which made the ride uncomfortable. There were two stops along the way where people could jump off the boat, which felt more like a party-style booze cruise than a family-friendly excursion. When we finally arrived at the Blue Lagoon, I was surprised to see that the water was not luminous as advertised. In fact, it appeared brown—especially when taking photos with flash. You could only see a slight glow when there was movement, like a splash or a passing boat, but otherwise it looked nothing like the promotional images. When I asked staff about it, I was told it was due to the weather, even though it was a clear night. While I understand they can’t control conditions, there should absolutely be a disclaimer letting customers know that the glow is not guaranteed. The advertising sets expectations that simply weren’t met. Several other guests around us shared the same frustration—some had even traveled hours for this experience. Overall, it felt misleading and not worth the time or money. I would strongly recommend that others think twice before booking this excursion.

Beautiful sunset. I had had the fried chicken with rice and peas at their restaurant. The fish soup was delicious and it came with my meal. The bread was perfectly warm, for the butter to melt. Before going on the tour, they had some dancers perform on stage. They were very entertaining! We booked the Luminous Lagoon tour and got to see some bioluminescence and even swam in the water! They provide life jackets in case you don’t swim well. Captain Dave was funny and made sure that we all got there and back safely.

The water actually glows when you move through it, which is amazing to witness in person. Before visiting, I’d heard stories about it, but experiencing it firsthand was almost surreal. The venue itself was okay—nothing fancy or special. The staff did their best to keep us entertained with a dance show while we waited for the boat. Once we got out on the water, though, the wait was absolutely worth it. Watching the lagoon light up around us as we swam was incredible! The water is shallow, no more than 4 feet, so you can literally stand in it. The captain and crew were very friendly and informative, and life jackets were provided for those who couldn’t swim. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend checking it out.
