We viewed the free, self-guided area of the center, but you can pay for a guided tour of the remaining spaces. Take the time to read the history of the area. It's informative and humbling.
It sits in middle of Sam Sharpe Square. Our tour guide recommended we stop by the center. It was well worth it!

Very clean and I love that we could take our time and tour on our own and take photos. Lots of attractions will sometimes not allow photos and that’s not nice because my view is that an attraction site needs your personal collection of photos for memories lol. Very budget friendly and a perfect date idea for those who are more introverted and like the arts and history. It may be boring if these things are not your thing but for me it was absolutely amazing

An amazing display of the Jamaican uprising and fight for freedom. Paid a small fee/donation to enter the self guided tour. Observed the historical relics that were saved over time that showed what the Jamaican people fought hard for in there chase for emancipation.
Across the hall is a historical documentation of the Rastafari movement and its origins. Beautiful colors, pictures and video that depicts the movement and its trails and tribulations over time.
Wonderful museum and display of the historical history of the Jamaican culture, history and people. Worth a visit!.

Nice Museum located in the middle of Montego Bay town. Has a lot of information on Jamaican history and the arts. The arts area is separate form the historic area which I think is good. I think the Art area could have more information and history but the historical area was great with informatuon and it had a great collection of historical artifax etc...gift shop has nice stuff but I don't think they showcase it well. Prices are average and they do a local rate which is great. Overall definitely somewhere to visit if on the area.

I loved this centre. It was great having the guide show each exhibit. He shared lots of knowledge on the history of the island and the exhibits. Also very engaging. The artwork in the gallery was lovely as well. A beautiful building.
