If you like history and engineering, this is a perfect match! This windmill was used to press sugarcane and was operational until it was struck by lightning in 2007.
The self-guided tour is only 15 BBD and it will only take about 15 to 20 minutes to explore.
We enjoyed seeing how the windmill worked both as a functioning windmill and a sugar mill. The informational signs did a great job explaining how everything works.
There’s not a lot to do after walking through the mill because the available grounds around the windmill are relatively small and the rest of the property is an operational farm.
The views from the small Cafe deck are stunning. You see the valley and the coast.
The mill and surrounding land was donated by a previous owner to the Barbados national trust. This is the only chance to see a windmill & mill it has all of its functional parts.
Recommended if you are within a 30 minute drive.

Really super nice staff. We only toured the windmill. It was a fun stop in our island tour we were there about half an hour. Very safe to climb to top, easy access. Very interesting history and beautiful views

A beautiful and peaceful historic site with stunning views across the east coast of Barbados. The windmill is well preserved and set in open countryside with cooling breezes, making it a calm and reflective place to visit.
There is a small farm area where children can see cows up close, which makes it a lovely stop for families and adds an educational element to the visit. The on site coffee shop is a welcome touch, perfect for sitting, relaxing and enjoying the views with a drink.
For visitors, it offers a meaningful glimpse into Barbados’ sugar heritage along with great photo opportunities. For locals, it remains a quiet reminder of the island’s history and a relaxing place to pause and unwind.
Well worth a visit for both tourists and locals.

Where do I start with this beautiful property!
We arrived when 2 schools were there. Tons of kids that were running around, and it was definitely chaotic. Admission ( as of 11/2025) is $6 BBD per person. If you’re wanting a tour. Then it’s $10 BBD per person. Not too bad for a national trust.
We elected to just roam around, and see the property as the individual working was definitely handling a ton of tasks.
Your $6 BBD is refunded at the cafe. Definitely stop, and enjoy the local coffee, and food offered here.

Very unfortunate experience. No one was at the entrance gate. We walked in and headed to the Cafe to inquire about the fees. We were met halfway (15 feet) and escorted to the café and instructed to wait on the young lady to wait on us.
While waiting, we decided to leave as and move on to the next stop on our list. As we were walking back to the entrance which was maybe 30 feet, we were told by the lady who ignored us up to this point, that we walked through the gate so we had to pay the $24 admission. Mind you, we literally had spent 2 minutes up to this point at this attraction...entering, walking to the cashier 30 feet down a path and waiting for her attention - she was having a personal converation.
We paid the money out of respect but I have to say, there was NOTHING extra to the personal service that we paid for, everything was seen from the parking lot. You could not enter the windmill.
Disappointing....
