Pat’s Place serves authentic Bajan food. We ordered marlin, swordfish and fried chicken meals that come with 1 side and 1 veggie. It’s fantastic as the portions are huge and probably one of the best valuable meals for your money in Barbados. We went on a Monday evening at 7:30 PM so there wasn’t any line-up. However, would I want to wait 2.5 h on a Friday night for their food? The answer is simply NO. Also, they ran out of Flying Fish and King Fish when I was there. It’s very comparable to Fred’s Bar and Restaurant without the line-up. Just don’t wait in line on Friday evening; come back on a different evening. I would return again on a non-Friday night. I still highly recommend Pat’s Place. Two thumbs up!

Probably the best and most famous local food and fish bar in the area and our favourite place to dinner in the island. They have many kinds of fish, all fresh and grilled, and diferent side options, at the most reasonable price you will find in Barbados. All delicius. Only thing could improve is the service depending on the staff member you find that day.

(02/2026) We are posting this review for the second time, as the previous one was removed. We tried the fried flying fish, as it’s a Barbadian specialty, but found it quite overpriced for the portion size (40 BBD for two small fillets with a side). While the food was decent, we don’t fully understand the hype or the hour-long Friday lines. Canned beer from Dreadhop Brewing is available (10 BBD for a small can). Card payments are accepted.

When our taxi drivee said "IT'S WORTH THE WAIT!!" He was spot on. Great value, decent portion, flavours to make you want to come back for more. Swordfish, rice and coleslaw was incredible. Friday night had live music to enjoy too. Lovely to stroll around buzzing Oistins with it's market stalls, food huts, and musical stages.

Various people told us Pat's Place is the place to eat on Friday Fish Fry. Unfortunately, when we got there, the line for the service was too long. We decided to go back another evening and boy, it was well worth it. The fish is fresh and you watch it grilled. Awesome selection and great sides. A definite for trying if you love fish!
