Beautiful Beach, Great Snorkeling & Perfect for Budget Travelers Pebbles Beach is one of the best spots in Barbados if you love snorkeling, marine life, and calm turquoise water. What makes this beach truly special is the chance to swim out to the shipwrecks. It’s an unforgettable experience — just remember to stay aware of boats and look around as you swim. The snorkeling here is fantastic. I saw turtles, colorful fish, and several shipwrecks, all within a comfortable swimming distance from shore. If you enjoy exploring underwater without spending a lot, this is the perfect place. Budget tip: Skip the expensive snorkel tours. Bring your own mask and fins, and you’ll have total freedom to explore at your own pace. It’s one of the best value-for-money activities on the island. Another thing I loved is that Pebbles Beach has a natural shaded area under the trees, which is great when the sun gets intense. You can relax, cool down, and enjoy the view without needing to rent an umbrella.

Pebbles Beach is part of the beautiful Carlisle Bay in Barbados and is especially famous for its easy and accessible snorkeling. The main attraction is the shipwreck area just offshore, which you can reach on your own without booking a tour. It’s close to the beach and easy to spot — just look for where most snorkelers are in the water. If you arrive early in the morning, you’ll notice small boats moored in the bay, with gaps and floating markers indicating the snorkeling spots. It’s best to wait between tour groups, as the area can get busy. There are plenty of fish around, partly because the tour operators feed them, which makes the snorkeling rewarding even for beginners. The water is clear, calm, and beautifully colored, and the beach itself is lovely. That said, it does get very crowded, especially with cruise ship visitors. You can rent beach chairs and find several places selling food and drinks. Overall, a great spot for snorkeling and swimming, but expect a lively, busy atmosphere.

Beautiful beach with turtles! Bring some goggles or snorkel gear because you’ll want to keep an eye out for sea life. We spotted at least 3 green turtles in the water.

Great opportunity to see horses bathe in the early morning. I was there 7am and there were plenty of horses. I avoided the few hustlers at the beginning just walk past them and reach the beach and you can watch from a distance for free. It is located between the Hilton and Radisson hotels closer to the Radisson pier.

Was there in 2019 and came back again in 2026. Still one of the best beaches. If you come from a cruise just don't stop walking. Avoid the crowds at the umbrellas and chairs and just continue until they end. You will find shade and lovely sand there. Just amazing colour of the water and beach. You have plenty of bars and restaurants to eat and drink. I loved it. The guys selling the chairs and the jet skis disturb the peace and quiet, but you cannot have all :)
