The vessel is great, but the customer service is terrible. The Good: The actual boat is clean, air-conditioned, and a very cost-effective way to get from St. Thomas to the BVIs. The Bad: The customer service is severely lacking. I tried calling and emailing multiple times with questions before our trip and never received a response. On the day of travel, the staff was incredibly unfriendly to tourists. Worse, the luggage policy is inconsistently enforced. The agents checking guests in forced tourists with small duffel bags (smaller than a tote purse) to check them and pay a fee, while locals with bags twice that size were allowed to carry them on for free. We explained that we needed one of our small bags because a child in our party gets motion sickness. They still refused, and our child ended up getting sick during the journey with none of our supplies on hand to help. Furthermore, the agents failed to mention the mandatory customs forms required before arrival, which created a massive, avoidable bottleneck once we landed in the BVIs. We actually booked non-refundable return tickets with this company, but our experience with the staff was so poor that we are choosing to eat the cost and book with a different provider for the return trip. I would not recommend them.

Decent ride from STT to Road Town. Left late.... arrived late. They didn't crank on much speed to make it up. Comfortable ferry. 10USD bag check is a crock as the bags were only stacked at the back rail (they all made it across...)

Avoid these clowns. They rescheduled/cancelled our return trip from Tortola to St. Thomas with no notification. If we hadn’t gone on their website earlier that day to see if they had an earlier ferry and instead saw they had nothing scheduled, we would have missed our flight out of St. Thomas and ended up paying about $750 each for a rebooked flight. On top of that, their customer service is pretty surly even when you offer them a friendly greeting. We were able to scramble and catch a ferry with one of their competitors at the last minute. Now we get to start the process of having our prepaid tickets refunded. Wish us luck. Oh, one last thing - they try to force you to check any bag over the size of a small pocketbook for $20 per item.

Horrible customer service, Showed up early for boat tickets. Standing in line. There were several white groups ahead of us. Then, when it was our turn, the felmale attendant asked for reservations. Not mentioning it to the other people ahead of us. I'm 40 traveling with my 2 year old son who has health issues and my 81 year old grandmother. We're not white. The way the lady dismissed us and was extremely rude and condescending. When we weren't moving fast enough upon hearing the news. I said, 'My grandmother is a senior, is there anywhere she can sit. The lady spoke with a nasty tone and waved her hand in the dismissive manner. My grandmother walked back over to ask her a question as to where the bathroom was and more information about the next available ferry. My grandmother couldn't get a word in, and the lady cut her off and dismissed her. I do not take kindly to someone being disrespectful to not only myself but also my grandmother. This was my first visit to Tortola at the end of this trip here. Everything was wonderful up until now. We booked for a later time with Smith's ferry company. I'm very disappointed. I do not recommend this company. As a world traveler and a person who's very chill, this really upset me.

Avoid!!! They reschedule your ferry without warning, and then you’re stuck. We found out as we arrived at the ticket booth that they had screwed up. If you value your money and your sanity, avoid.
