As a solo traveler and a complete beginner, I was a bit nervous about booking a horseback riding tour, but Roots Riding Stables made the entire experience seamless and unforgettable. Communication online before booking was great, with quick responses and absolutely no issues. From start to finish, the hospitality was incredible. They took all the stress out of planning by picking me up directly from my hotel and dropping me back off afterward. The host was exceptionally kind, warm, and welcoming, immediately putting me at ease. This is a beautiful, family-owned stable, and you can instantly tell there is so much love for the animals. Every single horse is exceptionally well cared for. My excursion ended up being a completely private tour with no other riders, just me and the owners, which made it feel so personal and special. I was paired with an amazing horse named Jeffrey, who was incredibly gentle and perfect for a beginner. The guide was absolutely great, ensuring I felt safe and comfortable throughout the entire journey. They even took photos and videos to help capture the moment for you! While this was a perfect solo activity, this stable is great for everyone, either traveling alone, as a couple, or with family. Riding along the coastline on Jeffrey was a wonderful experience. Do not hesitate to book this, it was definitely one of the best experiences of my trip!

I did this on my last day in St. Lucia. It became my best day in St. Lucia. I went on a solo ride with Boyo and the horse Jeffrey. One of the dogs named Bibi, also accompanied us on our walk. She was the sweetest dog ever, and it added to the trip because I was missing my puppy at the time anyway. Coming in nervous,Boyo, made me feel very at ease on the horse. He easily explains how to control the reins and feel in control on the walk. The walked to the ocean was amazing and the ride in the water was so so cool. I felt very at ease on the horse by the time the walk finished. It was great.

We had such a memorable ride on one of the Atlantic side beaches 10mins drive from Sandals Le Grande. Roots are passionate about animal welfare and their collection of horses are gorgeous. I rode Jeffery and my wife rode Style. The horses have great temperament and perfect for inexperienced riders. This is such an authentic experience and we really recommend them. Lauren and Gabriel - you are wonderful.

A beautiful family experience! It was our boys’ first time riding horses, and the team made them feel completely safe and confident. They took the time to explain how to handle and ride the horses properly, making sure everyone was comfortable before setting off. The horses are clearly very well cared for and loved. The whole experience was unforgettable. Highly recommend!

I rode Jeffrey and had the most beautiful ride at Roots Riding Stable. The horses are really well looked after and felt very safe to ride. I have riding experience, so my guide let me go a bit faster up and down the beach, which made the experience even more special. There are plenty of photos taken while you’re riding in the water, so you come away with amazing travel memories. The whole experience felt really personal and memorable. The family who run the stable are so kind and welcoming, and they also gave me some great recommendations for places to visit around the island. Overall, it was such a positive experience and something I’ll remember as one of the highlights of my trip to Saint Lucia.
