A brilliant experience that I would recommend to anybody visiting the island (and already have).
From our tourbus driver, to the staff on board the train itself, everyone is so welcoming and so eager to share everything they can about their wonderful home.
Your trip begins one of two ways: either straight to the train with a bus tour back to the port, or a bus tour to the train depot, with the train journey back. Either way, you're sure of a great time.
Sit upstairs for panoramic views or downstairs for air conditioned comfort (and still excellent views). Complimentary drinks are offered throughout the journey, including delicious rum punch.
Sit back and enjoy the commentary about the history and the beauty of St Kitts & Nevis and be sure to wave at everybody you see. The people of St Kitts really are so friendly that everyone waves. We even passed a couple of schools on our trip where the children all gave us a big wave and a smile. So very sweet!
Be sure to buy your ticket in advance. These tours sell out for a reason: they're that good!

After many years coming to the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis 🇰🇳 and a number of attempts to do the Scenic Railway train ride it finally happened. The experience was as spectacular as the island views, which I have only ever seen from a car or bus, when driving around the island.
The two members of staff assigned to our carriage catered to our every need by providing an endless stream of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and talking to the passengers about the scenery and island in general.
Throughout the train ride there was a commentary about all the points of interest along the route that gave a better insight to the history of the island. The staff were very accommodating and polite and the onboard entertainment a delight to watch which made for a wonderful and enjoyable scenic railway experience.

Can't recommend this enough, if you're thinking about it, do it!! This was arguably the highlight of my 7 nights in St Kitts. Such a unique way to see the island. Our bus driver Sean was fantastic, he had us laughing the whole journey and was very knowledgeable about the island. The lady giving the tour on the train (forgotten her name, sorry!) was also fantastic, as well as the lady serving us drinks. The dancers were amazing, so talented! The whole experience from start to finish was incredible. We got dropped off at the station by taxi and bought our tickets on the day, we were able to pay with card. Because we have Nevisian heritage, we got our tickets for $45USD each, which was a fantastic surprise! The views from the train were breath taking, and it was so lovely to see the locals and say hello along the way. The train does sway a lot but you are sat for most of the journey so it's not a problem, maybe just ensure you use the bathroom before the journey starts if you have problems with coordination and balance. Overall, an amazing experience. An absolute must do!

Older small/narrow guage train. Train sways quite a bit due to the need for the tracks baserock needing repacking but that is part of the fun. I recommend riding up top for a better view and thrill. Great commentary about the island history and villages. They had to historic dressed dancers that went to each car. Brochure picture shows a sailboat catamaran but you ride on a modern fiberglass powerboat catamaran and the music was load and not altogether suited for the older crowd on this particular day.

Great tourist attraction, the train takes you around the island, free drinks and wonderful views included. Don't hesitate!
