Our Stade’s tour day was one of our trip favorites. The distillery was a very cool up-close look at the process of making rum, the tasting was delicious and the beach area on their property is spectacular. The facilities are so nice and clean, they offer a nice variety of tasty food and drinks… and the staff… they are absolutely the nicest humans!!!! Plan to stay and enjoy the quiet, beautiful, private-feeling beach… it was wonderful!

The Best Location for a Tour and Tasting, add in the beach day and you’ll enjoy relaxing afterwards! On 1/27/26, we enjoyed a tour, tasting and a beach day at the famous Stade’s Rum Distillery, established in 1893. This is the only Rum Distillery located on Brighton Beach, aged by the ocean. We went on the first tour of the day, with our very capable guide Atyia. A nice touch when you arrive, they offer you a welcome rum punch and get you prepared for your tour with a short presentation, so you can enjoy your drink. Then you’re guided off to the distillery. Atiya was knowledgeable, helpful, and made sure we understood what the process of distillation entailed. She was also engagingly fun to listen to by including us into the demonstrations. We were a small groups of 12 people, which made it easy to ask questions. After the tour we were taken to the upper deck of the pavilion, with an amazing view of the ocean and beach below. There we had the opportunity to taste a number of the different aged rums differing in levels of alcohol, sweetness and flavor. We took advantage of both the outdoor cafe for a bite to eat and the beach chairs and umbrella set up and waiting on the beach. The locker rooms were perfect for changing into our swimsuits, leaving our things, and cleaning up before we left. All in all, it was a great way to spend our day and we would highly recommend it. (Be sure to book this tour ahead of time, because it sells out days before. I also recommend bringing bug spray, since the biting flies can be a deterrent.)

The Manager, Ramon, welcomed us among other friendly staff. Due to the unstable weather patterns caused by tropical storm Jerry, they had emailed us offering to reschedule the tasting due to the poor weather but unfortunately we were already en route when it was sent. Still, they were very accommodating and went ahead with the tasting anyways. Our server, Serai (sorry not sure if spelled that right) was very upbeat and positive despite the looming rain clouds. She provided an informative presentation while serving us 4 different rum samples. We stayed long enough to have lunch and another drink before a significant storm finally hit. Understandably, they had to close up the beach club early, but management offered that we could come back later in the week (once Jerry had passed by) and use the beach club. We took up that offer 4 days later. This facility has a beautiful and quiet beach. They have all the beach club essentials: washrooms(toilets), small but separate changing stalls, indoor showers, lockers, an outdoor shower, some beach loungers with umbrellas, and spacious deck area with additional seating. This was a relaxing experience. Highly recommend this excursion because for $30 US per person as you are getting both the rum tasting and the beach club on a peaceful beach. For $70 US you get a tour of this working distillery along with the tastings and beach club. Just a heads up for families: while the beach is great for flying kites and the ocean has the beautiful green and blue hues, the refreshing water does drop down quickly to 5-6 feet and deeper so might not be the best idea for small children.

We had a great time doing the rum tasting tour at Stade's beach location. It is a really beautiful setting and had a fabulous beach with loungers that is included in the price. We also had lunch there and the food was really good. The weather didn't allow us to enjoy the beach like we hoped but the rum was tasty and the tour guide is adorable. I highly recommend it.
