I will begin by acknowledging that the room was very clean and the mattresses were comfortable.
Those are the only positives I can share. The hotel is under construction, you can hear it from the room at the back of the building. The terrace was not accessible, the walkway blocked by appliances. There was no hot water in the unit. The ice machine was not working. The TV would not allow us to login to Netflix or Amazon. The person responsible for checkin was not available when we arrived. When we returned from lunch we discussed our concerns and requested a refund which was denied. We stayed the night and left the following morning. There was no information regarding the construction when we booked. The woman who was in charge of the property was rude and disregarded all of our concerns.
Expedia was not able to work with the hotel to get a refund and gave us $125 in one key cash to find another place - that did not even cover one night at Sunset Stay.
Trust me, do NOT book a room at The Sunset Stay - I would recommend Sandyport Resort. Away from the crowds, friendly and have all the amenities.
Remember, Expedia is not going to take care of their customers when a hotel does not disclose that they are under renovations, not as described/pictured. However, when we looked this morning several platforms, including Expedia were no longer selling rooms at The Sunset Stay.
Happy Travels!
***The hotel is not directly on the beach, it is across a busy street and offers no shade.

Dont book here. We got here today and there was a notice that water was shut off. We ended up getting refunded by the people we booked with but took 4 hours. Its under renovations i guess but they didnt notify anyone. No one answered the phones. Rats everywhere. Good news they have beer in a vending machine thats cold and the beach is across the street. Great price beach across street. Well kept look like marble floors seemed clean and spacious. One of our beds did not have a mattress pad which our traveling friend did not appreciate we did spray everything down with Lysol, but everything that seem clean. There is an issue with electricity in our room number nine we would be in the middle of something in the light would completely go out for just a couple seconds, and then back on, we were only there a couple days so we just thought it was an electricity problem with the current or maybe somethings going on with the light There is a driver there available who is very nice and we used to go a couple places he’s very accommodating. We did take the chairs across the street for the beach for maybe an hour and that was nice and they also have beach towels I just think it was an overall good experience it is not luxury but we didn’t pay for luxury. It’s a place to stay that we felt safe that there was a bit of commotion going on (a couple times not ongoing) in a couple of the rooms and we could hear stuff but it really didn’t bother us. I would definitely recommend staying here we booked last minute and we’re satisfied. You will need to bring your own paper towels for the kitchen, but everything seems clean. We literally were just here to quickly check out the Bahamas in looking at the pictures of the beach. This really is a gorgeous place and like hardly anybody so definitely recommend. Oh and sorry some of the photos are when we left I always take a picture after I stripped the beds and make sure everything is clean.

6.5/10
First thing I noticed was how small the space was, you couldn't walk in the door without hitting the kitchen chairs. The room did have two queen beds in it. The room was also equipped with a small kitchen and bathroom. They provided you with lotion, but no shampoo or conditioner so make sure you bring some. The room was definitely a bit dated and probably could be cleaned a bit more as I did a brief wipe down with a sanitizing wipe on the door area and part of the kitchen and it was pretty dirty. Also, lots of rust and some black mold in the bathroom (shower and ceiling) that should be addressed. I didn't find the beds comfortable, I think the mattress might have been a type of memory foam as it was thick and you sank into it, which isn’t my style. The pillows were too puffy for me and I actually woke up with a stiff neck. I did enjoy the coffee and having a fridge. As for the beach across the street, it wasn’t too busy to cross to. However, I would say it’s not much of a beach, specifically not a sandy one. It’s mostly rocky and pretty small, so disappointing for beach walkers. They do have loungers you can carry across the street and use. There are restaurants 5+ minutes away. The Poop Deck is supposed to be good, but it looks closed to me, but great location. I appreciated that they left some helpful information in the room i.e. restaurants, taxi numbers etc.. Close to the airport, but I was still charged $25.
Pros: Near ocean, good for price, close to airport, had kitchen, had loungers and SUP’s to use, marble floors helpful
Cons: A bit dated and rusted and could use updates, on a busy road, rocky and short beach area, bed and pillows were puffy (not my style), limited staffing (didn't bother me)

Excellent location! Take the nearby bus into Nassau, it's reliable and cheap, save some money from taxis. Clean rooms but very basic kitchens. Beds are great. Common large deck is 2nd floor with beautiful sea view. Noisy in daytime from cars
