- a guest vomited on the floor in the common area and it was left by the staff along with a sponge covered in puke at the kitchen sink for 24 hours.
- a mouse infestation in the kitchen was reported on Monday and that mouse poop was found in a guests clothing in the dorm on Wednesday yet the problem wasn’t dealt with until Friday.
- dirty and smelly toilet even though cleaning staff cleaned the bathroom that day and management not addressing it for over a week
- a dump truck parked outside my window revving it’s motor 4 or 5 times every morning between 6 am and 7 am
- renovations happening right outside my door as early as 8 am
- numerous guests arriving without the code to get in the front door or to get into their room
- no ability to cook for 2 days because the stove stopped working and the manager did not respond to her text messages
- unclean floors and entranceway; dirty fans
- mouse poop on the tea towels we were to use in the kitchen
- workman napping on the couch in the lobby
- pot of food left in the fridge for 6 weeks by the cleaning staff
- unfriendly, angry cleaning staff

The Waterfront Hostel, run by a lovely young couple is probably the best value accomodation in Antigua. The hostel provides very basic but clean rooms, it is only about 5 minutes walk from the town centre and has a great view of the harbour from the common sitting area. Breakfast can be cooked to order at a reasonable price. It is also the perfect place to meet other like-minded travelers over shared beer and takeaway pizza! I had my room booked for 4 nights at the end of a sailing trip but the trip ended a day later than anticipated, meaning i only needed it for 3 nights. Although the hostel could have charged me for the unused night they kindly chose not to. Also my flight home was late in the evening they kindly allowed me to leave my things in my room far later than the normal checkout time as they were not fully booked

This is a great option for a budget stay in Antigua, dorm is around 37$ and private room around 65$. Really nice terrace with common spaces, lovely view, very clean and the owners / employees are super kind and nice. I can definitely recommend 😊

I had a pleasant stay at The Waterfront & will definitely stay here again. The staff were very friendly. Special thanks to Kim & Enid who both went above and beyond to make me feel welcome.

Looking for a hostel to stay at in Caribbean? Look no further. This is the dream hostel to be at in this area. Bice common area, shared kitchen and fridges. Both dorm and private beds. Dorm room even has AC. Perfectly located for several hiking trails and acces to restaurants. Busstop for St. Johns right outside the building. And a small view of the Falmouth Marina to top it all off.
