This was my first time dining at UVA Barbados, and it was such an excellent experience that I felt compelled to leave a review. The food was absolutely incredible — everything I ordered was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. I tried the char-grilled octopus, pumpkin fritters, oxtail, lamb loin, and the brownie for dessert, and every dish hit the mark. Truly impressive.
The service was also great. The host was excellent and welcoming, and our waiter was pleasant and attentive. The food came out quickly, and the overall flow of the evening felt smooth.
My only real complaint was the seating. We were placed right by the entrance, so there was a lot of traffic with people coming in and out. It definitely took away from the otherwise lovely atmosphere. The music was enjoyable and fit the vibe, but it was a bit too loud for comfortable conversation. I also found the drink size a little small for the price.
That said, the décor was beautiful — modern, stylish, and thoughtfully put together. Despite the minor drawbacks, the quality of the food alone makes this place worth returning to, and I will definitely be back.

My pictures won’t do this restaurant justice at all. My husband and I live in New York City and are big foodies. We’ve dined at who knows how many Michelin starred restaurants. But this place easily had one of the top three meals we’ve had anywhere. The flavors and textures of the food are unreal, creative flavor combinations that were divine in execution. Our server Tyrique was friendly and just the right kind of attentive. The ambience here is lovely. Tons of substantial, imaginative vegan options too (not the sad go-to ‘cauliflower steak’). I wish I could dine here all the time. If only the chef considered opening a New York location…

UVA in Barbados is truly a gem! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable—polite, attentive, and professional, reflecting a high level of experience in hospitality. The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented, each dish crafted with care and creativity. The drinks were expertly made and complemented the meal perfectly.
Compared to other restaurants on the island, which often feel overrated, UVA stands out for its consistent quality and attention to detail. Every aspect of the experience, from ambiance to service, was impressive.
A special thank you to our waiter, Tyrique, whose warm and professional service made our evening even more enjoyable.
I highly recommend UVA to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Barbados!

A few days ago we dined at UVA and the experience was absolutely amazing. The cocktails were very good and the food was some of the best we’ve had anywhere in North America and the Caribbean, including some Michelin Star restaurants. The small plates is a great concept because it allows you to try a variety of dishes with different flavour profiles. Damian, you’ve nailed it. It’s no wonder you’re so highly awarded. Prices are commensurate with the quality and service was also very friendly and attentive. Shout out to Joseph who took care of us during that evening to remember. We are anxious to return.

We live in a London so have plenty of great dining options. However, this place is special. The setting is modern, cool, and comfortable. The service is prompt and friendly. Drinks are well designed, mixed, and presented (shout out to Jamal - our mixologist!). The food (tapas style with a carribean twist) was exceptional: there are few places in the world that offer such a thoughtful vegan menu. Beautifully presented and delicious across all plates and courses. We wanted to thank the chef personally but he was too busy preparing food for a packed restaurant on a Monday (no surprises).
