I don't get the low reviews! I had a super experience taking the ferry from Marigot, Saint Martin to Gustavia Saint Barths. I reserved a round trip ticket online the day before. It cost $95 total. That included all the government fees and taxes for entry to both islands! I showed up at the ferry port the next morning. The terminal looks new and was convenient to use. Everyone was very friendly and helpful! The manager was over-the-top friendly, helpful, and gracious! He made sure we got on the ferry smoothly in the morning. And he was there again that evening with the same great attitude helping us get off smoothly! The ferry was nice and looked fairly new too! This trip was smoother and cheaper than I was expecting! I would highly recommend this service to you!

Absolutely unacceptable experience returning from St. Bart. We arrived MORE than one hour before departure with valid tickets, yet were denied boarding because of a separate “check-in/stamp” process that is NOT clearly explained anywhere. The signage only mentions arriving 45 minutes early with identification and boarding passes — nothing clearly states that passengers must locate a separate office for an additional mandatory stamp before boarding. Even worse, multiple passengers were confused by the exact same issue, which local drivers later confirmed happens ALL the time. If this is such a common problem, then the company is fully aware that their process and communication are inadequate. The way staff handled the situation was honestly shocking. Instead of helping stressed travelers with connecting flights, several employees began yelling aggressively at passengers. At one point, police were even threatened against us, despite the fact that we were simply trying to understand why we were being denied boarding after arriving on time. We were treated like criminals rather than paying customers who had spent thousands visiting the island. The check-in office had already closed, there was no guidance, no empathy, and no effort whatsoever to help resolve the situation. The entire experience felt chaotic, hostile, and deeply unprofessional. Meanwhile, the Dutch ferry company next door was calm, respectful, and actually tried to help stranded travelers instead of escalating the situation. The contrast in professionalism and customer service was honestly unbelievable. If you are traveling with this company, be EXTREMELY careful and ask repeatedly about hidden check-in requirements, because apparently arriving early with a valid ticket is not enough. Future travelers may genuinely want to consider alternative ferry operators. Worst ferry experience we have ever had.

Bait and switch Alert: Beware of booking the 1:00 PM trip from Marigot to St Barths or the 2:00 PM one coming back. These trips do not exist and have not been running for years. Apparently this company puts these trips on their online portal as a classic bait and switch. These 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM trips are only available in the “Smart WiFi” option which basically gives you free modifications to your tickets. This is of course a pre cursor to their bait and switch scam. They will call you a day or two before your trip explaining how the trip got cancelled and that you will need to be booked on an earlier or later boat. Even though these other boats leaving earlier or later are cheaper. About 25$ cheaper per person. I got lucky knowing about this scam when a rental company agent in St Barths told me that Voyager never actually runs these 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM trips. Really bad practice that should be illegal. Regarding the actual trip I took, it was fine and the crew on the boat were great.

Good overall experience. Ride was exactly 18 minutes and crew were friendly and efficient.

It is a port. Try to arrive at least 30 minutes before the ferry arrives. You have to get a boarding pass, pay an exit tax, go through security, and then immigration. It is relatively quick, but not everyone understands the rules and makes it take longer than necessary. The ferry was about 5-10 minutes late which was helpful.
