I rented from ANSA for a four day period for $109 with a $375 deposit. I have adequate insurance coverage for my credit card so I decline insurance from ANSA. Within a mile of leaving the airport, I hit a pothole and had a blowout on my tire. I contacted answer and let them know, and they said that I did not have insurance for flat tires. I would have to call an auto rescue agency and pay for a tire repair. I contacted the auto repair agency and they advised it would be three hour response due to high volume of business in order to get where I needed to be. I just went ahead and change out the tire myself in the big scheme of things. This is a rather large SUV and the roads in Barbados are in horrible condition and very narrow. This is not appropriate vehicle to try to operate in the area. I decided to return the car a day early on arrival I was advised that there would be no return monies for the early return and I was charged $322 for a tire repair. I tried to argue that a flat tire is not a collision per se and that they should cover, but that was to no avail so I ended up paying close to $400 for a three day rental. Lesson learned for me honestly was don’t rent cars in Barbados. The traffic and road conditions are just too dangerous. Other lesson was do not rent from answer these folks, thieves, plain and simple.

_Warning: Scammer Alert!_ I recently rented a car from Ansa Car Rental at the airport in Barbados. The booking website advertised a Kia Picanto, but I was given a Suzuki that didn't look great. Initially, I didn't say anything, but things took a turn for the worse when I got a flat tire around 11:30 AM. To my surprise, insurance didn't cover tire damage, leaving me with an unexpected expense. When I contacted Ansa Car Rental at the airport, their response was slow. I was disappointed with their service and the lack of clear information about insurance coverage. To make matters worse, they charged me $124.84 for the flat tire. I had an even more urgent situation since I had a flight to catch at 3:40 PM, and I had to scramble to contact them. I had to use a stranger's phone to call Ansa Car Rental because they didn't answer the provided number. In desperation, I left the car near the Barbados Water Authority, hoping someone would assist me. I even considered taking a taxi, but their slow response left me no choice. Leaving the car was frustrating, and I'm still upset about the experience. Based on my experience, I would advise others to be cautious when renting from Ansa Car Rental. When renting a car, it's essential to ask about full coverage and clarify what's included in the policy. Don't assume you're covered for everything – ask questions upfront to avoid surprises later. Unfortunately, my experience with Ansa Car Rental was subpar, and I would not recommend them to others due to their questionable business practices.

Hired working car from Ansa for two days and managed to explore the whole island which was wonderful. No problems with the car throughout my trips. Keep in mind the 1 star reviews that you see complaining about the car don’t tell their full story and might have hit one of the major pots holes that are scattered throughout the island so make sure to dodge them all and go slow.

Horrible company. We reserve 6 weeks before Christmas and they cancel 10 days before our arrival. By this time, all car rental agencies are fully booked. No compensation. Just lots of “blah blah – we are sorry…”. How do your apologies help me get around the island exactly !? Your company brings a great shame to your island.

I booked a car on November 16 for a rental from December 29 to January 2. On December 18, I received an email stating that my reservation had been canceled. The initial email gave no reason, and when I followed up, the responses were one sentence long and only mentioned a vague “fleet issue.” When I asked whether they could suggest another rental company with availability, the answer was simply no. This was extremely frustrating given the timing, as this was a holiday rental and canceling less than two weeks in advance left very limited options. Fortunately, I was able to call a competitor and secure a car on my own, but that should not have been necessary. The late notice, lack of transparency, and minimal customer support made this a very disappointing experience. I would not rely on this company if you need a reservation you can count on.
