This restaurant is a hidden gem, family owned and operated. The food is fresh and delicious, and is reasonably priced. My only criticism is that the tables and chairs need updating. I highly recommend Bar 557. You should eat here.

Donovan and staff were great along with the food. Everything we ordered was excellent. One of my new favorites in Barbados.

Bar 557 was a delight to find off the beaten path and was a great neighbourhood restaurant. Donavan welcomed us with the warmth of a long lost friend and assured we were being taken care of a number of times throughout our meal. Amongst us we ordered grilled Marlin, fried chicken and hamburgers and all were delicious with no complaints or concerns from any of our group of six. We definitely will be going back! It got very busy on a Thursday night so I would suggest calling for a reservation if you have more than a couple people.

Wonderful experience. Excellent food and feels like you’re getting to the heart of Barbados. Catch of the day was tuna. Amazing. “Our fish was eating breakfast in the sea…” says Donovan. Excellent burger, too. You will feel great supporting this place.

Great Friday night music, dinner, drinks! Solid veggie burger for the vegetarians and vegans, excellent local fish, local steamed veggies, hand cut fries. Cozy place for those who want to experience Bajan hospitality and make a few friends. Good takeaway options, too!
