Outstanding from start to finish. I went three times on my week trip. The fish is to die for! Lee is awesome to talk with. And the view is spectacular! This place is a must!

This place has an almost-cultlike following (especially among Canadians for some reason) and is a great spot to chill and have a few cold Presidentes just a few minutes from the Taino Bay cruise port (or a few moreinutes from the Amber Cove cruise port), just outside historic Puerto Plata. The amazing view is definitely the draw (no offense to el jefe, Big Lee), and the staff is excelente! I prefer to eat local in Puerto Plata (I highly recommend Parada la Playa), so we have never tried the food (the fish and chips gets lots of love, but most of the menu is just burgers, fries, etc). The aforementioned view is postcard-worthy, but don't come for the beach which, like most of the beaches along the malecon, is small and trash-strewn.

We had read so much about Big Lee's before our trip to Puerto Plata so we had to try it out. It did not disappoint! The fish & chips were crispy, fresh and flavorful. Everyone was friendly (staff, other customers, and Big Lee). The view was beautiful. We will be back the next time we are in Puerto Plata!

We all went on a trip to PP and this was on our list to try as there were great reviews about it. The good news is the onion rings was good and the fries were also good but a little on the oily side. Now the fish was not good at all, it was not cooked well and it’s too salty and that’s coming from 4 different women.

Exactly what it is, a beach bar! Very relaxed environment. Don’t expect too much. Videos/photos clearly represent this place. Basic menu with burgers and chicken fingers for a little more money than expected. That goes for the drinks too. Expensive for what you get. When you factor in the state of the establishment. I say this because we passed a few restaurants down this strip and they looked more welcoming. Being a bit more up to date, clean with more food options. The server was kind and helpful. It served its purpose. Would I return? Probably not with other options that looked more appealing for the price. I will say it was quiet and the view was pretty.
