So glad we made it before they closed!!! The staff was very helpful so we can make the most of our visit and we got the canvas bags for presents to bring home. It was amazing to be able to set your feet on the oldest building in the island and see its story. In a glimpse. Must see place if you are into history and appreciate different cultures!

Although a small museum, it is really well designed with informative and fun exhibitions about the country's ecology and geology, as well as history. It has simple but enjoyable interactive that engage both kids and grown-ups. It hosts changing exhibits, too. It has a really good giftshop that is blessedly free from the proliferation of tacky turtles! The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable, too, and happy to give local recommendations. This museum nerd spent about 2 hours OT the site. It would have been longer, but the were installing a new exhibit so some areas were off limits.

If you want to learn about the history of the island, this will the place to go. They have a couple of video presentations where it looks like someone is talking to you. The museum is small, but we'll worth the stop.

Such an amazing museum! I loved learning about the rich history of the Cayman Islands. The short movie at the start gave a great background before exploring the exhibits. Even more fascinating is that the building itself used to be a courthouse and jail—so much history within these walls. Definitely a must-visit!

Short, but informative, that is what we felt after experiencing the museum.
From the pre-recorded show to the history lessons and local artistry, the museum does a good job at teaching you about the islands, its history and its people.
I highly recommend it for anyone wanting experience local history a bit.
