Chefette was a nice place to try while in Barbados. The food was tasty, the service was quick and it gave me a glimpse of a local favourite rather than another tourist spot. The chicken & potato roti was our favourite.

Terrible for food allergy sufferers. There is zero allergy information on the web site or menu. The staff member that we talked to at the counter said that the chicken and fries would be suitable for my daughter with multiple allergies. When the food arrived we were surprised to find it included a bread roll, which hadn't been mentioned. We asked the staff member to double check on the allergy status of the bread roll. After they came back from the kitchen we were then told that the entire meal was not actually safe because the food was not made on site and so they had no idea what the ingredients were. My daughter had to eat elsewhere.
This situation was a close call for us. Suggesting to someone that your food is safe for them to eat, when it isn't, is much worse than simply saying "I don't know". Chefette needs an allergy policy (even if it is a blanket statement saying "we can't cater for allergies") and allergy training for its staff.
Two stars because the broasted chicken and fries that I had was pretty tasty.

Returning to Chefette after a considerable hiatus, I was met with a mix of nostalgia and surprise, and I wanted to share my experience, complete with a photo for context. The all-beef roti, once a hearty and generously sized delight, now appeared noticeably smaller.
In the attached photo, I've included a ketchup packet for size comparison, highlighting the reduction in portion size. While the flavors of the all-beef roti remained as delicious as I remembered, the smaller size was unexpected, especially considering the unchanged price.
Despite this size discrepancy, the taste of the all-beef roti was still delightful, with tender beef and a perfect blend of spices that brought back fond memories. The Broasted chicken sandwich and large fries I ordered were consistent with the deliciousness I associate with Chefette.
The ambiance and service, as always, were welcoming and efficient. Unlike KFC around the corner. The staff maintained the friendly atmosphere that has been a hallmark of Chefette over the years.
In conclusion, while the smaller roti portions were surprising, Chefette still excels in taste and service. If you're returning after a while, the change in size might catch you off guard, but the familiar flavors and welcoming ambiance are still very much intact. Check out the attached photo for a firsthand look at the size comparison. If you're a fan of the classics, Chefette remains a tasty fast food stop in Barbados.
