Clover and David were the best hosts in my whole travel history! They have been living 40+ years in Montserrat and are happy to tell you stories and to help you out. David picked me up from the airport and Clover helped me buy groceries and told me how to get around the island. Sun, their son even searched for other tour operators for my Plymouth tour. Gingerbread Hill is probably the best among budget accommodations in the Caribbean. It's located nearby the main road where you can catch the local minivans. There's a pool, kitchen, laundry facilities, etc. I stayed in the smallest room but it was still pretty large and clean - the largest option was basically a whole apartment with even a rooftop. Clover was even kind enough to let me use the rooftop where I got some cool shots of the Milky Way! Overall, Montserrat is a very safe, calm island with the friendliest people and a unique history. It's not the easiest place to visit, but it was one of the most remarkable experiences I've ever had and I'd 100% recommend!

We loved staying at Gingerbread Hill with David, Clover, Noah and the sweet animals. The villa had everything we needed, we cooked most of our meals in a full kitchen which was great. Bed was comfortable with stunning views all around. Cool breezes, safe island and clean drinking water! We were picked up by David at the airport, stopped for groceries and taken to our accommodation where a rental car was there waiting for us. We didn't have to worry about a thing. What more could you ask for while on vacation...thank you so much for hosting us, we feel blessed to have met you all! Jen and Craig

Although we had a short stay it was amazing. Thank you to Clover for being so accommodating and introducing us to Mr. Daly for an excellent tour of the island. The home is amazing with incredible views. You have everything you need for a relaxing, comfortable stay. David, Clover and Noah, thank you for having us!

Loved it! My wife and I stayed in the Mango Cottage for a week.in February. The Cottage is rustic and simple, comfortable and peaceful. Owners David and Clover and son Noah are wonderful, relaxed and attentive. Gingerbread Hill has extraordinary views and is nicely located on the west coast in the center of the island. Easy access to the beaches especially Bunkum Bay and Woodlands, where on most days we had them to ourselves. The water was exceptional. Definitely take Clover up on renting a car. Concentrate if you’re not used to driving on the left. Take in Hilltop Coffee House, the volcano observatory, and the tour of Plymouth. Looking forward to returning.

Owner Clover and her family took great care of us during our trip to Montserrat. She picked us up from the Antigua to Montserrat ferry and ran us by a grocery store on the way to Gingerbread Hill. We stayed in the 2 bedroom 2 bath villa, which offers a full kitchen, comfortable beds (a king in one room and 2 twins in the other). We loved the covered outdoor dining area and enjoyed the ocean view and gorgeous sunsets from the porch swing. After we watched an informative and well-done documentary video on the volcanic eruptions (created by owner David), Clover's son Sun took us on a fantastic tour of the island.
