Stopped by for some take out on the way home from the beach. We grabbed some drinks while we waited in the open air, tree house style restaurant. Hank greeted us,took our orders and cooked the food. He is a gem. Food was great, snapper, jerk chicken quesadilla, jerk chicken salad, and seafood quesadilla. Ignore the new villa construction across the street partially blocking the view. Hopefully those guests stop by for some food and catch some of the laid back vibe.

I absolutely hate to do this but I truly feel travelers should be aware. Arrived for breakfast prior to a day on shoal bay after a very confusing drive as maps took us down toward the beach. In any case once we arrived, we were immediately confused again by perhaps 3 “parking spaces”and then greeted by a man made “staircase” to a tree house restaurant. Said staircase doubles as a death trap with uneven, bumpy concrete where I unfortunately gained a black and blue stubbed toe. After making it to the top, I asked for a ladies’ room which the waitress who could barely manage to greet us directed me to. Much to my chagrin, upon finishing in the bathroom, there was zero running water with which to wash my hands and an Insect the size of my palm in the sink. once I exited, I requested a place to wash my hands. The waitress mumbled something about water pressure and that she would check. Once she returned she informed me that the water is low and “that’s just the way it is in Anguilla.” She then proceeded to ask if we were ready as we were just beginning to open the menus. It was at this point we opted to leave and head Over to Zemi where we happily paid exhorbitant prices for a welcoming atmosphere with functioning facilities (which every other establishment had). It is clear that if there is no running water for myself then there also would not be any for the employees with which to wash hands or equipment. Also the demeanor of the waitress was so off putting especially as I had just been severely injured and unable to wash my hands. I truly hope the establishment does not rely on tourism is tourists are not welcomed.

Great island breakfast! Wherever you are staying, Hank’s breakfast is worth the trip. He has a cool, tree house-like little open air cafe. Food is excellent - western omelette was chocked full of fresh ingredients and the strawberry smoothie was very refreshing. Fun fact: Hank’s breakfast is available all day. Highly recommended!!

My lobster pasta was delicious and filling. The service was great. Prices were fair. The space felt like a tree house. It is a great lunch spot off the beaten path.

Food is awesome. It may take some time to get to your table. However, who would dare complain when the proprietor himself (Hank) happens to be your chef. Him and his staff are articulate and pay close attention to detail with every dish that leaves their kitchen. You won't be disappointed.
