Just completed a girls trip in SXM using J VIP Taxi Service, and I can honestly say this was the worst part of our trip. I booked an on-call driver 2 months in advance after finding Jay on TikTok. Looking back, I should’ve ran once he kept asking me to reconfirm information I had already provided multiple times. He told me he would be our designated driver, but instead sent Leroy 2 hours before our scheduled pickup time on our first day. We also ran into a payment issue because I confirmed multiple times I was paying by card and not cash, and once payment was due upfront he still requested cash. Afterwards, Jay conveniently left out the additional $45 card fee. That delay made us late for dinner and some of the girls didn’t even get to eat before the restaurant closed. Leroy was great and quickly became our preferred driver because he had a much better attitude and made us feel safe. Leroy was the best part of this experience (despite him also being tardy, he did his best to communicate). After a few days, Jay randomly started showing up instead, and his behavior became increasingly unprofessional. He turned the music up while we were talking, texted while driving, read my text messages, and both drivers were consistently 15–40 minutes late because we later found out we weren’t their only group, despite paying for an on-call driver. There was never any communication or apology, just excuses. To make matters worse, Jay made inappropriate comments and touched some of the girls in our group inappropriately, making us feel uncomfortable. Overall, I would not recommend this service. Poor communication, constant lateness, unprofessional behavior, and definitely anything but VIP.

We booked J VIP Taxi Service months in advance with the understanding that we would have an on-call, VIP transportation experience throughout our trip. Unfortunately, this service ended up being one of the biggest disappointments of our vacation. The first issue occurred immediately upon arrival. We had previously agreed that payment would be made by card, but when Jay arrived, he insisted it had to be cash. After we explained that this was never communicated, he agreed to accept a card—but only after adding an unexpected $45 card fee at the last minute. Throughout the trip, they were consistently late picking us up from excursions, dinners, and other scheduled transportation. Waiting late at night as a group of women without any communication was not only frustrating but also made us feel unsafe. The communication was extremely poor. When they did arrive, there were rarely apologies—only excuses for why they were late. I do want to recognize Leroy, one of the drivers, because he was always kind, respectful, and helpful. While he was late on a couple of occasions as well, he treated us with professionalism. Unfortunately, our experience with Jay himself was far more concerning. He made inappropriate comments and inappropriately touched some of the women in our group, making us feel extremely uncomfortable. He also invaded one of the women's privacy by looking through her phone while he was supposed to be driving. On multiple occasions, he was using his own phone while driving as well, which made us feel extremely unsafe. When we addressed the ongoing issues with his lateness and poor communication, he became hostile toward us. At one point, he even pulled over on the side of the road to confront us in a hostile manner after we questioned why he had been late. As a group of women traveling together, this behavior was completely unacceptable and made us feel even more uneasy. This was not a VIP service, not an on-call service, not a professional service, and certainly not a reliable service. Based on our experience, I would not recommend J VIP Taxi Service to anyone traveling to SXM.

If you are looking for a safe and reliable means of transportation or even advice about where to go on the island Joel is your man! Solo travels or group travels he is it! I travelled with a group but ended up leaving early and he got me around on the island safe and to the airport with time to spare! Very chill personality and always smiling. Don’t think about it or look to compare prices just book with Joel trust me you won’t regret it!

Joel is hands down the best to ever do it! We were a group of 20, and every time we called, Joel was already on the way. He’s reliable, professional, resourceful, and always brings a great vibe. He made getting around St. Maarten effortless and fun and whenever we needed anything beyond transportation, he knew exactly where to send us or who to connect us with. If you need a driver on the island or a go-to source for recommendations, Joel is your guy. Big shoutout as well to one of his drivers, Charles, he picked us up a few times and was an absolute joy to ride with. Timely, helpful, and just as great of a vibe!

J Vip Taxi Service was phenomenal. The vehicles were clean and each driver was punctual. Special thank you to France, your customer service was spectacular! I would recommend this company to any traveling to SXM.
