I am disappointed that the owner wants us to pay even more money to him at this stage. Julielm House was not at all what was advertised or promised: the furniture was old, musty-smelling and uncomfortable. There were no windows that we could close other than the big wooden shutters, which led us to being uncomfortably warm as well as overrun with mosquitos. We had to stay in the bedrooms with the ACs running, as that was the only place in the house that was remotely comfortable. Not a single appliance worked properly - from the broken microwave oven to the broken dishwasher to the broken refrigerator, to the barely working washer and dryer which left our clothes dirty and smelling burnt. Even the shower heads were rusted through and barely worked. We only had the cleaning lady come once (we told her not to come the last Thursday as she upended the whole house the first time and our school and workdays were completely disrupted). No gardener ever showed up to cut the lawn/garden the whole time we were there. On top of all of this, we paid for the quarantine monitoring expenses to the tune of over $1,000 USD that he now owns and can use again for other tenants. I don't believe we owe him any money and would like our full refund back.

We have just returned from a 3 week stay at Juliem House. All the rooms were much larger than we expected and the kitchen very well equipped. The bet bit is the covered outside dining and lounge area by the pool, where when in, we spent most of our time. Michael the owner was great at communication, Mandy who greets you was friendly and ensured we happy with everything before leaving and Miriam the cleaner is just lovely and we were impressed with the standard of cleaning. We would highly recommend this villa and its location.

The thing that grabbed us about the villa was its location in Rockley, which is a 7 mins walk to the beautiful Rockley Beach. Its located in a fairly quiet neighbourhood of Rockley, with great access. It has ample parking space, lockable gate and fantastic outside space, the pool area with BBQ is wonderful. The only places we spent time in the villa were the kitchen, well equipped, the bathrooms and bedrooms, all fantastic. Staying in March, we seldom used the aircon, but you can do but set at levels that are comfortable, why anyone wants aircon on all day at 18oC is quite frankly wasteful and bonkers ! Mandy who meets you and the cleaner are exceptional, so too was the pool cleaner, wonderful people. I think we sat once in the living room, the rear outside space is wonderful why do you want to sit inside ? Michael the owners communication was spot on, really good guy to deal with. We had a great time, 3 couples first trip after covid, we had a blast and if we come back well be staying at Julielm House again.

Renters beware! Julielm House in Worthing is not quite as advertised. On the plus side the villa was extremely clean, the beds were comfortable, and the Property Manager Mandy was very helpful. However many things in the villa were broken or did not work. The ice maker did not work, and some of the bedside lights likewise. Very few TV channels were available. Air conditioning was only available in the bedrooms, and only if you were in the rooms. This was monitored by heat and motion sensors, and also by sensors on the doors and windows. Over very many years of renting villas in Barbados I have never experienced rationing of ACs on this level. In addition, hot water was very slow and difficult to obtain. To put it kindly, some of the furniture was definitely “vintage”, much better in the photos than in reality. All-in-all this was definitely NOT A LUXURY VILLA!
