We had been let down very badly by a local developer and his wife who called herself an 'interior designer'. The house we thought we were getting had been trashed and the furniture and interiors which we had paid for were non existent. Draw your own conclusions to that. We had found this out shortly before coming to Barbados for the winter so we needed the whole house refurbished and re-designed with brand new furniture throughout and in a relatively short time frame. I was recommended Melissa of Mella Design and this was the best recommendation I could have had. She made, what was a very stressful time, so much easier and always went (and still is) going above and beyond. She has created a house into a home with such an eye for detail and everything just how we wanted and asked for. She coordinated everything with precision and seemed to know what we wanted before even being asked or even before I knew what I wanted. This is the essence of a true, professional interior designer. I trust her implicitly. She was always available when I needed to contact her and we had a 5 hour time difference. She managed to mix furniture she had designed herself, traditional furniture pieces made in Barbados by local people without the need for shipments which would have put weeks onto the project. Time which we didn't have. She had local curtain designers who also did an incredible job with Melissa's guidance. It is rare in this day and age that someone actually does what they say they will do but Melissa did do what she promised every time. She is still always available even now the project has finished with ongoing support and with anything we need extra. This is rare as many interior designers, once finished on one project just move onto the next without a thought for the last project. I want Melissa to come and live with us as we were met with such perfection when we arrived at our house, that I want it to stay that way. I am sure it will though as quality and professionalism always wins in the end. Thank you Melissa. We could not have done this without you. You are a true master of your craft. I am very happy with the service I received from Mella Design. Not only did she make the process very easy, her renderings are incredible! As a designer, she made me look good, and made the process seamless. I highly recommend her!

Melissa is amazing to work with, so flexible and easy to communicate with. Her renderings look so photoreal, my clients are always amazed as well. Would definitely recommend working with Mella Design.

Mella was very professional and regularly checked in on the project to make sure everything was going according to plan. It was a pleasure working with her and will be looking for more amazing renderings in the future.
