We had the guided distillery tour and it was awesome. Our guides was super nice and friendly.
The tour is great as you can see each step of production closely. We even had the chance to taste a rum directly from the still (awesome experience if you are a rum enthusiast). We had the tasting in an amazing room, where you can also buy some bottles.

Really enjoyable couple of hours learning a lot about the history of rum on the island and the rum making process - before tasting the four main rums offered by MG. Friendly and engaging tour guide (Damian). If you’re not driving or hang a taxi then you can get there by ZR to Josey Hill from Speightstown (which is easy to get to from almost anywhere on the south or weat coast). Really enjoyed it as an afternoon out.

A review by someone SOBER who did a tour:
It was worth it. Damien was an incredible guide. Very knowledgeable, kind, and had answers for all the questions we asked.
The tour was comprehensive of the entire rum making process, starting with a rum cocktail and ending with a rum tasting of 4 rums that my partner did and greatly enjoyed.
Wear comfortable shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, and bring extra water. A good portion of the tour was in the direct sun. There are water stations throughout the tour too. I also had a small portable fan that was useful in really warm areas with not much airflow.
Even as someone who doesn’t drink, I found this tour very interesting as I enjoy learning about the history and processes of things such as this. The history is beyond cool and is such a core part of Barbadian culture. It’s an absolute must.

Great tour with knowledgeable staff, and plenty of rum included!
This tour is well worth it even if you have a passing interest in rum. The origins of rum and the history of the distillery are covered, as well as how rum is distilled, stored and blended. The giant barrel store rooms are particularly interesting. Our guide Damien was friendly, knowledgeable and only too happy to answer any and all questions.
You are greeted with a pre-tour rum punch, and round off the tour with a 4-rum tasting session!
Be sure to take sunscreen, a couple of bottles of water, and a hat (umbrellas are provided for free on site), as a good portion of the tour is outdoors and it gets HOT.
