Had an EXCELLENT time at O2. Celebrated my birthday here and I was not disappointed.
Staff was so friendly and accommodating. I do believe we were visiting during a slow time but the service was great. Breakfast was very good, would have liked more dinner options but still great.
It did take a while to get to the town, however if you are wanting a relaxing stay you will not need to leave the resort. Would definitely return - did not want to leave.

We recently stayed at this resort in Barbados, and overall the experience was just okay. The resort itself was fine, and the food was decent, but unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the lack of entertainment.
For a resort, the entertainment options were extremely limited and quite boring. Every evening at 9:00 PM, the only activity was the same setup—two people singing slow, unengaging songs that you couldn’t dance to. There were no shows, no live performances, no disco, no variety at all. By 9:00 PM, there was simply nothing to do, and it felt unusually quiet for a resort atmosphere.
The resort is advertised as family-friendly, but this really needs to be reconsidered. There was absolutely nothing entertaining for kids. There are only two swimming pools—one for adults and one for children—and the kids’ pool is very small. That was the only activity available for children. We saw many kids at the resort, and most of them looked bored and unhappy.
Overall, the resort has potential, but it seriously needs to invest in better entertainment—for both adults and children. Adding shows, music with energy, kids’ activities, and family-friendly programs would make a huge difference and greatly improve the guest experience.

Great service and beautiful views from the rooms. Delicious food and friendly bartenders and servers and resort staff.
Overall the resort is just a bit rough around the edges for a 5 star resort, but it's a solid 4 star from me, enjoyed my honeymoon here for 6 nights, and may be back in the future.
The best part of the resort is Oro restaurant, make sure you check that out if you are visiting!

Did not stay overnight. Just booked a day pass. The pools and beach were immaculate. Drink service at the beach was very friendly and speedy. Same for the restaurants. Went in two of the pools and they were great. Nice and refreshing. Would absolutely visit again.

Still a beautiful resort but losing the sparkle that once set it apart
We’ve stayed at O2 Beach Club & Spa four times in as many years, and it’s somewhere we’ve always spoken very highly of, which makes this review a difficult one to write.
The rooms remain stunning, beautifully designed, spotless, and equipped to a genuinely high standard. The restaurants continue to impress with excellent food, variety, and presentation.
And it’s important to say that many of the staff are absolutely fantastic, full of warmth, humour, and that effortless Bajan charm that makes you feel genuinely welcome. They’re a credit to the hotel and the main reason our experience still had bright moments.
However, something has changed. The atmosphere felt off this time, with a few staff seeming disengaged or disconnected from guests, which is new and noticeable.
The family-friendly feel has faded. The main pool allowing children was dominated by adults every day, while the adults-only pool sat largely empty. Families were left struggling to find loungers, and on two mornings the main pool, meant to open at 8am, was still being cleaned at 10:30, leaving kids with either a small, uninviting bar pool or nowhere to swim.
Around the pool area, we saw leftover food packaging, straws, and ketchup sachets that hadn’t been cleared from the day before, something that would never have happened here in years past.
One evening we also witnessed a large drunken group arriving at dinner, some still in swimwear around 7pm. One woman was so intoxicated she was slumped over a lounger. The restaurant manager handled it professionally and calmly, but again, it’s not what you expect to see in a five star resort.
Even ORO’s dress standards have shifted. Once requiring smart trousers and collared shirts, we saw T-shirts and tracksuits being worn.
Looking back through the hotel’s marketing, there hasn’t been a single family-focused image posted since around 2022. It feels like O2 has repositioned itself towards adult groups and party-style guests rather than families seeking a refined but relaxed break. That impression was reinforced when we watched a large group shouting from a balcony down to friends four stories below.
The beach remains clean and pleasant, though the water is rougher and more Atlantic in feel.
During our stay there was no beach service and only sporadic poolside drink service, which was disappointing given how attentive it used to be.
O2 is still a beautiful property with great potential, but it’s no longer delivering at the level its premium pricing suggests. It has the infrastructure of a five star resort, but the operational standards and guest experience have slipped closer to four.
If this is the direction O2 is now taking, moving away from families and towards adult-only groups, then fair enough.
But for returning guests who remember its earlier warmth, polish, and balance, it’s hard not to feel a bit let down.
