Absolutely poor service and cards that don't work!
I sent an email to them about 2 months before a trip so the card can be activated to work in a different country (only bank in Barbados that seems to still need this outdated requirement).
The sent back an email stating it was completed.
Got to the destination and tried to use the card at 3 different places and none worked. Each time I had to use my CIBC card instead.
Emailed them about this issue almost 2 weeks ago and still can't get a response. Thankfully I have a CIBC account & card that works internationally.
Don't use Sagicor if it's your only credit/debit card when travelling!! You could be stuck without money if you don't have a backup bank.
CIBC & Scotia both work flawlessly internationally (credit or debit)

If I could give 1 star I would..Service is ridiculous for an "online" bank. When you call, you cant reach anyone ! Multiple emails or calls, NOTHING. When you use your card at POS machines, they do not work at all, the ATM machines for Sagicor dont work either. How can a banks own card not recognise at its own ATM machine? I went overseas and made a transfer urgently between Sagicor and CIBC, real time payment and the transfer only went through daysssss later..I could only use my CIBC card. Absolutely ridiculous, and when you do reach a staff member..they have an attitude when they 'assist' you. I wouldn't recommend using this as your only bank option..not even savings, because I have known close family members say that money went missing and reappeared with this bank.

I ordered a replacement debit card from Sagicor Bank Barbados in July 2024. By November, I still hadn’t received it, so I called. I was told to “wait a little longer.” I followed up again in March 2025 and was told another card would be ordered and I could collect from the location but they couldn’t tell me when. It’s now June 2025 and only now I’ve been told the reason after having to call them: they sent an email saying my driver’s license needed updating. I never saw this email. No one followed up by phone. Apparently, they’ve never heard of junk mail filters.
When I asked why no one called to follow up, I was told it’s my responsibility to respond to an email I never saw. That’s an astonishing approach to customer service.
To top it off, I was charged $30 in 2024 for a card that stopped working and couldn’t even tap. The cherry on top is that even when I have the debit card it doesn’t work on scotia bank card machines so I have to use a card from another bank and transfer the funds back.
This entire experience shows a lack of urgency, poor communication, and no real accountability. For an online and modern bank this is just ridiculous.

What started off with great promise ended up with tremendous disappointment. Their system of security within the app is flawed requiring you to contact the bank should your phone get restored or replaced or if you’re locked out. Fine, but the issue is they never answer calls, never respond to emails, never check DMs and never reply in chats. This to me says a lot about the bank moving forward. They also don’t seem to have information on their own products such as whether their cards will ever work online or internationally, what points system is available with their credit cards and if points can be accrued until they are fully rolled out. I have zero faith in the bank now and I was really hoping for the best.
