The Bamboo Retreat - Soothing Touch Spa

Getting the works with this spa today, have to make sure you book the day before closing time. The ambience is very Caribbean relaxed mood, light and airy. Birds in the back ground, a nice light breeze flowing through the entire building as the sun hits the middle portion of the circular house. The bamboo lends a very soothing effect to the entire set up and the wicker chairs are easy to lay back in and relax. The services, wide range offered, waxing, pedi, mani, massage, sauna etc. Listing on website is accurate. Gets my approval!

Thanks to Steve, Tamisha and Angie for a wonderful experience at the spa today. Steve, your hospitality was impeccable. Angie and Tamisha, thank you for those awesome body scrubs and massages. You ladies are the best and you know your stuff. I liked the quietness, and the restful and relaxing nature of the spa. Unfortunately, we did not get to enjoy the outside garden, as it was raining. I would definitely recommend soothing touch to family and friends.

I'm planning a trip for a party of 10 in Oct. I reached out to this spa via their chat feature offered here on Google just to confirm where they were located in relation to where we are staying. I also provided my email address in the event they advised the could email me some info. I got a response in less than 1 minute stating "call the office". What's the purpose of offering a chat feature when you're not offering anything thru it? Why would I make an international call when I can chat or email? It's 2023. I hate poor customer service and this just didn't sit well with me. Taking my business elsewhere.

You don’t want to deal with this company if there are any customer care issues. This is my story: On November 15, 2019, I ordered a massage for my wife (scheduled for her birthday on Nov 27 2019), thinking that she would be able to receive it by the beach. I put this in my request as well (but I was not able to choose a beach spa in the booking system, although I knew they have a mobile spa there). I thought it would be ok as the booking system claimed free cancellations until Nov 25. I asked them through email (and through the booking system) to confirm that my wife could receive the spa on the beach. Since I did not receive a response, on Nov 20, I canceled the appointment through the booking system and through email. I did not receive a response on this request either, so I sent cancellation requests for 3 different emails I could find on their web page on Nov 21. Still no answer… I tried to call from Canada, but I did not get through. When reaching Barbados, I had a hotel rep contacting them first on Monday, Nov 25. They agreed to cancel it over the phone and to process a refund. They told the hotel rep that it would take 3 days to process the refund. I never got a confirmation email back, so I asked the Hotel rep to follow up on Tuesday Nove 26. Same story but no written confirmation. I provided email cancellation proof through my hotel and had them to follow up on Nov 27, Nov 28 and Nov 29. The same story all the way through, they said that they would refund but nothing happened. I am very frustrated and have not got my refund. They appear to be a scam. I lost 220 Barbadian dollars and received no massage on the beach for my wife. I would give 0 stars if I could, but that is not an option here.

Was a joy to reconnect with owner Steve Andrews and the wonderful staff at Soothing Touch - thoroughly enjoyed my scheduled treatments and the relaxing ambience and atmosphere of the location making it ideal for relaxation and rejuvenation - see you again soon 🤗
