Ate with my friends and we were well welcomed and served within a good amount of time with enough space between courses. Drinks were great and the menu is so expansive! Very delicious and well cooked. Fish meals were the best! The structure is gorgeous and the vibe was great. Mango shots at the end!!!!!

Soursop Bar & Grill was one of our favorite dining experiences in Dominica! Located in Portsmouth, this charming open-air Caribbean-style restaurant is not only a wonderful place to enjoy great food but also incredibly photogenic. If you love tropical vibes and great travel photos, you'll love it here. The food was outstanding. We started with the bruschetta, followed by the grilled chicken with Creole sauce and the grilled lionfish, served with perfectly cooked rice, fries, fresh vegetables, and delicious local dasheen (taro). Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What truly made our visit special was our beautiful and ever-smiling server, Nathalia. She was warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. She mixed delicious cocktails, made fantastic recommendations, and had amazing taste in music! We discovered we both love the Jamaican singer Alaine, and she enthusiastically recommended several albums for me to listen to. Those unexpected conversations and personal connections are what make traveling so memorable. The atmosphere was relaxed, authentic, and exactly what we were hoping to find in Dominica. Great food, wonderful service, beautiful surroundings, and a soundtrack that made us want to stay even longer. If we were still on the island, we'd absolutely be back for another meal. Thank you, Nathalia, for making our visit so memorable. If you happen to read this review, I hope you'll enjoy watching my Dominica travel videos on Instagram in the coming weeks. 😊 Highly recommended for anyone visiting Portsmouth!

If in town you definitely should pass by soursop. We had dinner and a few drinks. Best Spiney lobster we've had, bbq style with local spices and sauces. Fresh, flavourful, and beautifully prepared. Every bite was packed with taste, and the friendly, attentive service made the experience even better. Our two waitresses were so welcoming and lovely. You must absolutely try their local shots, personal favourites: tamarind and lime ginger. Overall 10/10!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Soursop was one of the highlights of our time in Dominica. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff at the bar and immediately felt welcome. The atmosphere was fantastic, with creative décor throughout the restaurant, including unique light fixtures made from local rum bottles that added a distinctive island touch. The ambiance for dinner was warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed evening. The service was exceptional from start to finish, and the food absolutely lived up to the experience. We enjoyed the coconut and lemongrass mahi-mahi with jerk rice, along with a variety of sides including green banana pie, fried breadfruit, steamed vegetables, and a fresh green salad. The fish cakes (acras) were delicious, and the coconut ice cream was the perfect way to end the meal. We also tried a signature soursop punch which truly had a lot of punch with a refreshing aftertaste. What impressed us even more was how the team handled a brief power outage during our visit. It didn’t faze the staff or owner at all. Additional lighting was quickly provided, the backup generator came on seamlessly, and the team continued delivering outstanding hospitality without missing a beat. Our food arrived as planned, and the experience remained just as enjoyable. A special highlight was meeting Ashton, the owner, who was warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about hospitality. He shared his service philosophy with us, and it was clear that everyone on the team embraces it. The attention to detail, quality of the food, and commitment to exceptional customer service were evident throughout the evening. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Portsmouth. Soursop offers not only excellent food, but also the kind of genuine hospitality that makes a meal truly memorable. We would gladly return.

Visited soursop for the first time today. The ambiance is very welcoming. Big thanks to Ashton for his kind hospitality. The food was great. Had the bruschetta and shrimp, my husband had the conchs and it was immaculate. Will definitely be back.
