As with all the parish churches on the island...this one being no different all boasts a lot of history and of great significance to the island's Anglican worshippers and the parish in which they served.
They have all been in existence since the 17th & 18th century and have similarities in their architect both inside and out, most have a second level with an organ and balcony.
Even the altar is similar in design with the stain glass windows and a clock tower structure exterior...maybe I missed it on my visit, what I didn't see at this one however was a designated gravesite and tombstones of the time period.
It was clean, comfortable and airy...that same familiarity of the parish churches, the many memorial plaques on the wall with spacious pews...definitely worth a visit when in the area.

Very beautiful church. It was open to the public on the day (Tues) we were visiting Speightstown.
There was an organist there playing beautiful music.
There's dedications to multiple parishioners on the walls.
We even saw a family of monkeys playing in the trees near the cemetery.
Super CUTE and unexpected!!!

The St. Peter's Parish Church is located in the immediate vicinity of the Speightstown City Center in St. Peter's Parish, Barbados. The Church is a welcome sight for the city and can be seen on entering the city from that direction. The outstanding edifice and well kept grounds is an obvious historical attraction and no one had to tell me that, it just looked the part.
The St. Peter's Parish Church with its prominent tall steeple and distinctive architecture commands attention and a closer visit to the site is definitely worthwhile. Much more can be said, however it is best to visit in person and soak-up as it were, the great ambiance; viewing the photos gives some idea of the majesty and splendor as well.
